The purple cap opens like a flap to reveal the sponge for foundation application. The glass top must be twisted off the purple cap to access the foundation inside. Make note of the clockwise arrow at the bottom of the purple cap, this is the direction to twist the product cap off to access the foundation. Lay the product between your palms with the purple cap facing toward the ceiling. Press your palms tightly together and twist your top palm clockwise to remove the purple cap. I normally love this product easy to use goes on smooth, but this last purchase the product fell out of the case and didn't go on very well. I don't know if I received an old product or what. Will make me think twice before spending the money on a future purchase.

Packaging is Difficult

The product was OK, but the packaging is miserable. I couldn't figure out how to get into it and ended up searching online videos. Thankfully, there were several "how to" videos since many people had the same problem, and there is NOTHING on the packaging to indicate that you have to flip down the bottom section and then twist off the top section. I had to use a gripper tool to open the top the first time. I also found it difficult to find the shade that was right for me. The store just has a tiny circle of many, many beige colors and the compact itself it hard to tell the color since it is in a swirl with white. I actually thought the swirl part was the applicator and found out later that it was the product. The color numbers on the label were no help since they didn't match other Cover Girl products I have. I don't recommend and I won't purchase again. Too bad I can't return it...

I like the powder but the hinge connecting the top broke after about a dozen uses. Was not dropped, just stored in makeup bag. Bought a second one and the same thing happened even with care. Took the second full but broken one back to store to request a replacement but was over 30 days since purchasing.

This is an excellent foundation, my go-to. It is one of the few foundations that uses titanium dioxide solely as a sunscreen. My skin cannot tolerate the other usual sunscreens including zinc, oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, and octinoxate. Simply Ageless Instant Wrinkle Defying Foundation goes on smoothly with the included pad and gives good medium coverage. The hyaluronic acid and Olay cream in the foundation are good for my skin. It does not settle in wrinkles. In the summer I use a 50 SPF titanium dioxide sunscreen and then apply the foundation over it. One Simply Ageless Foundation container lasts about a month of daily use. Please keep on making it! I am in my 70s.

I bought this recently and love the product and how it looks when applying and how it feels on my face. Looks smooth and blends well. I gave 3 stars and not 5 because the compact case itself. Should be one piece attached . Not a screw on top and flip compartment with sponge applicator separate! Plus where is the mirror!!! Who doesn't apply without a mirror??!! I believe I would purchase again if the case is changed.

This is impossible to open, please make it easier, I have been using this product for years and always dread buying a new one because of how hard it is to open. This last purchase took the cake, we used a hammer, nail polish remover, knife and finally got it open. Had to throw away the new lid and use the old one. Please do something. Thank you.

I love this foundation. This is the lightest, creamiest, prettiest "skin-like" foundation I have ever tried. I find it lasts long enough with a good setting spray, but I don't wear any foundation without one anyways. I bought this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Now, the cons: The sponge it comes with absorbs too much product in my opinion, even for a reapplication. Something less absorbent would have been better. And also, if you're going to have a little section like that, why not add a mirror? I certainly think it would make the price point more bearable. Other than that though, I love it.
