So I remember as a young teen when my mom worked for Clinique her bringing me home a lip shade in a tub. It was a berry type color she felt would work with my green eyes and blonde hair. I swear black honey is that same shade, but it was better in the 70s. I do not like the consistency of these lipsticks at all, nor do I think they captured the original color perfectly. I love a lot of cliniques line, but not these. Neither the black honey nor the pink are doing it for me. Also not a fan of the matching blushes. Black honey blush is very, very pigmented and just too much. The pink honey is more useable for my pale skin but it's the honey color that I'm not liking. It would have been better as berry and pink and drop the honey that's added to it.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] So pretty! I was worried when I first opened the package because it looks pretty dark and a bit on the brown side in the packaging, which is not what I expected from a color called "nude honey". However, when you apply it it's a very sheer, pretty shade that just adds a little something to your natural color. The "almost lipstick" is creamy and moisturizing. It doesn't leave my lips feeling dry and chapped. The tube stays closed well in my pocket so I don't have e to worry about making a mess if I carry it in my scrub pocket all day. It's a slim tube also, so it's not bulky and annoying to carry with ne. The lip and cheek oil adds a little shine and is very sheer and moisturizing. You can wear each individually or layer for a tad more color.

I have all three beautiful colors of this lip product that I apply according to time of day and the look I like to achieve. The colors blend well with my light pink lips, giving me a natural, hint of color look that I like. Speaking as an older adult woman, I like that the appearance is attractive, but not dramatic. Like all Clinique products, I like them because these are the only lip colors I've used that don't cause stinging and burning! I'd love it if the next color would be one with a red tint.

I will say that the pigmentation is more in the medium side. Its not over powering or bold. Its more of a stain type. I do have to reapply through out the day but its so moisturing I don't mind.

The coverage was light but had enough color payoff that I could see it being an easy lip product to put in my purse and reapply as needed! The lip was also super comfortable so that's a plus. The only issue I had was I think the black honey shade is a little dark for my pale/light complexion but I think it could be a great lip color for a more moody or fall makeup look!
