While in flood mode, the light casts a vast circle of light that is equally bright across without any dark spots. Then twist it into spot mode and the light will reach far downrange with a transition halo that allows for a large viewing area surrounding the tight spot beam. This flashlight ROCKS!!
Very good value for cost:flashlight has good heft: good illumination as both spot and flood light: can take quite a bit of abuse during use. Very comfortable grip, location of on/off switch recessed to avoid any possibility of accidentally turning flashlight either on or off. Exceptionally good value.

I don't think there is a better flashlight brand out there. Easy to use, durable, bright. Some folks might say, "Hey, it's just a flashlight ," until they need their cheapy in the glove box to work in the middle of the night on a dark roadside and it doesn't! If you need a dependable, durable flashlight for those times when it just has to work, look no further. Also, being American-made is a plus, too!

Great light for the price
It's a very compact light with a very bright white beam that's adjustable from flood to spot. The only thing that would make it better is a rechargeable battery pack.

I just received my warranty light that cost replaced it was quick and easy and they sent me a awesome life to replace the one that I quit it's very bright and last a long time on 6AA . GREAT COMPANY they stand behind their products. I couldn't be happier!!!

G450. Simply a great flash light.
I love these flash lights! I own three and keep one at each door to the outside. I end up using each daily to walk the dogs. They are small and light weight in comparison to the old 3cell lights I used to use in the past. Batteries last 2-3 times longer in these than the old 3cell lights and these G450’s are bright! I typically use it in the narrow beam configuration but I like that I can expand to wide band if needed. This is just a great flashlight!!

worse flashlight I have ever owned
light comes on when it wants to... goes dim, then bright, then dim... I've taken the batteries out of it and thrown it away.

Decent for home security
I received this as a replacement for a larger version, (6 batteries vs 9), that failed after a number of years of great service. The G450 is not as bright, and doesn’t have as convenient of a switch, but is still a solid piece of kit. Lights up the whole yard, no issues. I expect at least the same life out of this light. Coast offers an incredible warranty and is very nice to deal with. Between my truck, car and house I’ve got 3 coast lighting products that serve me well! Couldn’t ask for better!

Will not turn on
I got brand new batteries in this thing and I do not know what direction to put the battery pack in how and which way does the battery pack go in is it go up or down

Hello, If you look closely on the cartridge itself, there is an arrow that is pointing in a specific direction. The end that the arrow is pointing to will be the end that goes in the light first in order to make sure the cartridge is in the correct way!
