Cocokind's Ceramide Barrier Serum is specifically formulated with 5 types of ceramides and lipids that mimic and support skin’s natural barrier, helping skin recognize them more easily, this optimized serum nourishes and replenishes for healthy-looking skin. Ceramides, which are integral to skin barrier structure, are paired with complementary lipids, allowing them to be easily recognized and absorbed, along with ceramide precursors to promote skin’s natural ceramide production. Together they help reduce moisture loss and defend against external aggressors. Fatty acids add extra skin barrier support, while lactic acid gently renews skin helping ingredients sink in more easily. I bought this in March. Got sold on an instagram add, so I figured if I waste $20 no big deal. I have a 'broken skin barrier', so sometimes even warm water is too much causing redness and irritation. I started using the serum just now in August; that's how scared I was to put something new on my skin. Did the spot test of course, then full 4 drops all over the face. It's working wonders. My skin feel more hydrated, significantly less irritated. I will buy it again for sure.

This was fine for a while but half way through I started developing a sensitivity to it. I checked the ingredients and the ceramides are the bottom of the ingredient list. With lactic acid pretty high up... If you didn't know lactic acid is an exfoliator! A gentle one yes but still an exfoliator! This is primarily an exfoliating serum not a barrier repairing serum. And for those of us with extremely sensitive and reactive skin, that's literally the opposite of what you want.

I used to use this product and loved it to the point where I bought three bottles. But I noticed when I was purchasing my third bottle, there was a different color on the label of some of the bottles compared to the others. I figured it was new and old stock, so company must have changed the label. So I got the more unfamiliar one. I’m not sure if the formula changed too or something, but my skin never reacted the same way it used to with the other ones I’ve used. It now makes my face slightly burn when I apply and it’s discomforting knowing it’s never happened before. It’s a shame if the formula did change, whether for a good reason or not. I loved this product, but it’s not the same anymore.

I bought this a few months back and have used it twice daily til the bottle is empty. This serum is great. It has really helped my sensitive, super dry, rosacea-prone skin feel a lot better. After this step in my skin care routine, I apply a good moisturizer to seal it in. I didn't notice any scent. It layers well with other skin care products. I am so in love with this serum. My skin desperately needed hydration and barrier support when I started applying Tretinoin a few months ago. I was really getting to a point where I didn't think I would ever find something for my skin. I had tried several popular, vegan products from brands like Hylunia, IlMakiage, and DRMTLGY over the last couple years; the latter affecting my skin the worst. I was reluctant to try Coco Kind for fear of wasting more money, but I really appreciated their price points, and they had stellar customer service reviews. I reached out to customer service with several questions on which products to try, and they helped me decide on 3: This ceramide barrier serum, oil to milk cleanser, and turmeric tonic. I tried the serum first, not wanting to use all of the products simultaneously in case of a reaction. All of the sandpaper skin caused from my previous products was immediately soothed after ONE USE! The inflammation on my cheeks was reduced so much, as well. My skin felt so nourished and soft, with no tackiness left over, no excessive oily feeling, no residual dryness after an hour or two ... just the most incredibly smooth and silky skin I think I've ever experienced. Going on 3 months of usage now, and I'm still in love!
