Q: How many strips are needed to hold large diploma frames? One is 6lbs and the other is 9lbs so the weight limit is within range but does it require 2 strips on each side or just one?

submitted by D - 9 years ago

  • A: Hello - Thank you for asking. This will depend on the size of the frames as well as the weight. The Medium Picture Hanging Strips can be used for frames that are up to 18" x 24" in size. For frames less than 6 lbs, two sets of adhesives are required. For frames that weight more than 6 lbs up to the maximum weight of 12 lbs, 4 sets of adhesives are required. This information and placement instructions are detailed and depicted on the packaging instructions. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please connect with us directly at 1-800-934-7355 M-F 8am-5pm CT. Thank you.

Guests are saying

The product has received mixed feedback from guests, with many praising its ease of use and ability to hang lightweight items without damaging walls. However, there are significant concerns regarding the adhesive strength, as several guests reported that items fell shortly after being hung, leading to damage. Guests appreciate the convenience of avoiding nails, but caution is advised for heavier items. Overall, it is a practical solution for light decor but may not meet expectations for all uses.

Much weaker - could maybe hold a sheet of paper

These used to be my go to nail-less options but they changed them. They aren’t nearly as sticky as before. Things that used to hold easily are now falling off within minutes.

Horrible and lead to broken picture frames -avoid these

I have used commands strips for years and they worked great but the last few boxes I bought are awful and don’t stick at all! Several things have fallen off my wall and broke because they do not stick. Don’t waste your money on these!

    Very durable

I love using command strips because they are durable and leave no residue. I had my command hooks up for 10 years in my gym but the janitors took them down this year to scrub the walls.

I brought a 36x24 wall art and the command strips to wall the art. With in a week, it the art fell off. The painting is fine but the edge of the frame has minor damage! I’m so disappointed because I just want to hang my wall art in my living room. So unsatisfied with how the way it turns out. Don’t buy this product!

    WASTE OF MONEY

If u could give zero stars, I WOULD. I've used these many times. But this time the adhesive was barely on the command strip. Almost non existent. Wouldn't hold a thing. Not tacky or sticky even to the touch. Disappointed in the quality and I purchased 7 packs of these. Terrible This go round. Wasted money.

    Didn't stick well

I followed the normal rules for command strips, stick on the surface, let sit for 1 hr plus, the tried to attach the other Velcro piece to it and the tiny curtain rod I was using it for, and the Velcro held but the sticky came right off the surface. I tried again letting the sticky sit all night and the same thing happened.

Great way to protect walls and display photos and art

Love these. Use them to hang all the photos and art in my house. The only thing is that after you take them down a couple times you need to replace the strips or they don’t hold it to the wall.

    Not worth my money

It didn’t even stick to the wall when I applied it. Stickiness was not good enough, fell off easily. Waste of my money.

    Dont waste your money!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would! Used three pairs to be extra safe to hold up a 16x20 frame that was plastic frame with plexi glass front-very light weight. Fell off my wall and broke my frame into pieces. It’s not as sticky as regular 3m strips. Highly disappointed and wish I could get my money back!

    Doesnt work.

These don’t work. Following directions, I tried for a framed artwork 14x14. It did not hold. And you rip the sticker off the wall trying to separate the Velcro when trying to remove. The velcro is stronger than the adhesive.
