Q: Am I able to use these to hang frames that are less than 5 lbs, but the dimensions are 16 x 20?

Q: If I used 2 of these side by side, would it hold a frame up to 10 pounds?

A: Hello - Thank you for asking. We do not recommend using more than one hook per item. If you do, it is important to note that when more than one hook is used to hold an item, you will need to make sure that the weight is evenly distributed between the hooks. The total weight capacity remains the same as one hook. It would not double the weight support. For a frame that weights 10 lbs and is less than 24"x36" in size, we would recommend using our Large Picture Hanging Strips, 17206 instead. The last thing you want are new holes in the wall to this will really come in handy. The universal picture hanger is metal and seems extremely sturdy and able to stand up to a bit heavier picture frame.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hook/hanger was a little tricky to work with at first. I was eventually able to get it installed correctly, and then it did work. The hook is a little clunky to hang, but it does work well with "sawtooth" style frame hooks. I did get a picture hung, but it and fall down a couple of times. While it's not my favorite hanger, it did eventually get the job done.

I was more impressed with this metal version of the Command sawtooth hanger as I believe it will hold up better in the long run. I also like the fact that there are "stabilizer" strips so that larger items don't "swing" if your item has wire as the hanging medium. This hanger seem to adhere very well to surfaces I have tried (wood, painted sheetrock) but come free with no damage if necessary. This hanger is suggested for use with items with sawtooth, D ring or keyhole hanging frames along with wire suspended frames. The 4lb weight limit is a bit low, so be careful with larger pieces. Do ensure to follow the directions and be aware that the strips will not adhere well to textured or rough surfaces.

I like the size of the hook and that they’re is an option to hang with a wire by positioning the post of the hanger at the bottom. The directions are clear and easy to follow. The stabilizers are an added plus for keeping your picture straight.

I wish the anchor strips were a little larger, but it got the job done and the portrait is finally on the wall where it belongs. Definitely use a level to help!

Since I am moving in the next 3 months, I am waiting to use this at our new house, but it seems like a simple task to use. I have in the past just hung a nail on the wall and put up the picture, and it swings sometimes and gets crooked because the nail doesn't always stay centered, and its looks unprofessional anyway. So, Along came this Universal picture Hanger with stabilizer strips, and I am happy about this. Basically, you hang the large silver piece with the post on the wall where you want to hang your item and hang it. The four small strips included are to use 2 in each of the opposite corners, mounting one on top of another and attached to the corners. This allows the picture you are hanging not to sway back and forth. Good idea!!!

The metal of the hook is a nice touch and though the weight limit on it isn’t any higher than the standard hooks, the metal gives me an extra level of confidence that it will hold up well for my hanging project, I used this hook for new wall decor in my laundry room. It didn’t work for a shadow frame that was deeper than a normal frame at the back, but it did well for a wide word art frame above my laundry room sink.
