does the job well
this product works as inteded. the instructions show that if your using a wire to hang your frame you would have to turn the metal with the 'knob' upside down so i do see part of the metal sticking up out from the top of my painting/picture. this is why i took one star off. it doesnt bother me much but it did at first.

Waste of money
I bought these before and they work great. Got a new photo to hang so I purchased these again. Only this time I went through all 8 strips (two packs) only for it to keep falling. My photo is 2.6 lbs. These say they hold 8 lbs.

Never trust command with valuables
Unfortunately I forgot the cardinal rule of commend strips, never, never, NEVER, hang anything that you like or are remotely worried will break. Doesn’t matter if you follow instructions etc. I hung a unique decorated mirror that was around 5 pounds. It lasted all of 6 hours before it dropped and shattered in the middle of the night. I’ve had another hook drop before (also hanging a backpack that was well underweight) so I should’ve known better than to trust Command.

Disappointed
I've used Command strips successfully before so I had high expectations for this product. I wanted to hang some picutre frames without putting nails in the wall so I bought these. They didn't fit the photo frames well at all. The picture felt very unstable. I ended up not using them at all. What a waste of money. Luckily the strips did come off the wall clean. There ws no damage to my walls. You must pull the strips SLOWLY in order to avoid screwing up the walls. I'll be using nails to hang the photos now.

I purchased this to hang a large painting (5 lb) on my wall. It was not until it arrived when I noticed that in addition to weight threshold (8lb), there are also size restrictions (18"x24"). The latter should have been prominently specified in the product description.

Causes more damage than a nail would.
CAUSED DAMAGE! BUYER BEWARE! Purchased to hang up item on wall weighing less than 5 pounds in apartment as I cannot have holes in the walls. Fell and peeled off the paint underneath. A tiny hole from a nail would’ve been cheaper and easier to fix than this paint mess I am now going to have to deal with. Very disappointed.

BUyer Beware
I've had many pictures fall and tear my sheetrock. The last picture that fell, the picture frame broke and the actual prong on the plate , that holds the picture broke off the plate and the adhesive tabs tore when trying to pull straight down to remove. It was then very difficult to get the plate off the wall without incurring more damage. I double adhesive most of my pictures and doesn't really help. Buyer beware.

Buy beware-the adhesive has a shelf life!
I used to keep some refill strips on hand. Apparently this is not a good idea, because the adhesive apparently has a shelf life. After a while the stickyness declines and your item will fall. I called about this and there was no substantive response. I think the packaging should have an expiration date!

Its a no for me, unforunately.
Read/followed instructions. Heard a crash and ran to see what it was. The picture came down with the hangers and pieces of the wall after hanging for approximately a month in my new home. I mine as well had used nails. Either way there would be damage.
