Q: Bought this pair a week ago. With each use, I notice more black spots inside the pans. And, I’ve used them twice and hand washed them both times. Is it safe to continue using them?

submitted byProduct Expert - 4 years agoBrand expertA: I'm not sure who the "Brand Expert" that's answering this is but I have a 10 in diameter, 3 inch deep, straight wall pan by Cuisinart. It's a 3 quart saute pan. I have a 1.5 quart sauce pan and it's 6.5 inches in diameter, 2.5 inches deep. I have a 2.5 quart that's 7.5 inches in diameter and 3.75 inches deep. How do I know? I actually measured the pan and didn't go off a spec sheet that may or may not give all the dimensions and/or correct ones. The volumes are stamped into the bottom of the pan. The vast difference in sizes can only be explained by someone failing to measure correctly or transposing data from another model.

A: Stains on the outside bottom (not sides) of pans can be removed with an oven cleaner. Follow the manufacturer’s directions and spray or brush the cleaner on only the outside bottom of the pan.

Q: I used my new pan, washed it, and noticed pitting on the bottom is the inside of the pan. Is this normal?

A: Pitting can occur if salt is left to sit on the bottom of the pan and not immediately dissolved into water. The pitting affects the aesthetics of the pan but does not impair the performance of the item.

Everything sticks to bottom and won’t come off. I am asking for refund because the bottom of pan already lost some of steel coatin g after 2 uses. No harsh chemicals or abrasive products used to cook or clean.

This saucepan is less than 6 months old. I've only used it for warming up canned soup or boiling water for eggs and pasta. The stains shown on the bottom of the pans and sides appeared a few months after purchase. I will never buy a cookware set from Target or Cuisnart again.

The 3 qt lid was incredibly hot to the touch. All other cuisinart products I use have lids that are cool to the touch even when cooking. The 1.5 qt lid handle is cool to the touch but the 3 qt handle scorched my fingers and they're already blistering up. I contacted customer service so will update when I hear back. But as is, I would not recommend this set.

These are not true stainless! After using them to boil some chicken for a soup they have black spots inside, like dots of black paint. I also noticed this on a sauce pot I bought at another store, but thought it was because it was a discount store..These are not worth repurchasing and I hope I won't get sick from whatever these pots are doing.

They say dishwasher safe but were messed up after the first wash. I tried to get in contact about the warranty with Cuisinart, but I just passed to someone else or ignored. I had hoped if they replaced them that I could try just handwashing them. Not worth buying.

Little pits appeared very first time I used it. I only used it to warm up some leftover sauce. Washed it immediately after and they were a little pits there. I am going to see if I can return it because I don’t know what will happen after more use.
