Q: Have never used a stainless skillet....Should I use Pam or something when cooking?

submitted by Debra - 7 months ago
  • A: Thanks for your question! Yes, you can use cooking spray on stainless steel to prevent sticking, but it's generally better to use a light drizzle of regular oil or butter, as aerosol sprays with lecithin can build up a stubborn, sticky, polymerized residue over time, making pans harder to clean, especially if overheated.

submitted byProduct Expert - 6 months ago

  • A: Use butter or oil. Make sure you pre-heat the pan. Sprinkling a little bit of water on it should sizzle. Clean it while it's still warm but don't put ice cold water in a hot pan or it'll warp

Q: Do these contain nickel?

submitted by Railey - 26 days ago
  • A: Yes. Stainless-steel cookware, including this Cuisinart Classic 2-pack Target, is generally crafted from 18/0 grade stainless-steel. These alloys inherently contain a small amount of nickel to provide rust resistance and a durable, polished finish.

Q: Are these pans all clad?

submitted by Evelyn - 2 months ago
  • A: These skillets feature a three-layer encapsulated base (typically stainless steel surrounding an aluminum core). This aluminum core is located only at the bottom of the pan to distribute heat. The sides of the pan are a single layer of stainless steel.

Q: will over easy eggs stick

submitted by BG - 6 months ago
  • A: Thanks for your question! Over-easy eggs will stick to stainless steel if the technique isn’t right. Stainless steel isn’t naturally nonstick, so a few key steps matter: • Preheat the pan first (medium heat). A properly heated pan helps prevent sticking. • Add enough fat (butter or oil) after the pan is hot, then let it heat until shimmering. • Let the egg set before flipping. If you try to move it too soon, it will stick. When it’s ready, it will naturally release. • Avoid cold eggs straight from the fridge. Letting them sit out briefly can help.

Medium heat to fry peppers and it melted my spatula! Did I end up eating my spatula in my peppers? I don't know! Also when I first got it and was gooing to wash it per instructions, there was black gunk on it that I had to scratch of with my nails because it wasn't coming off with dawn dish soap! No way do I feel safe cooking or eating anything made in this product. Returning

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how concerning this must be. Stainless steel cookware is designed to conduct and retain heat efficiently, so we recommend using cookware-safe utensils (such as silicone, wood, or high-heat nylon) and washing with warm soapy water or a non-abrasive cleaner to remove any initial residue from manufacturing. This type of residue can occasionally be present and should rinse off with proper cleaning before first use. Thank you for sharing your feedback as it helps us improve future models and offerings.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. For best results with stainless steel cookware, we recommend preheating the pan properly, using appropriate heat levels, and allowing the pan to cool before cleaning, as this can help improve performance and ease cleanup. If concerns with durability or cleaning persist, our team would be happy to assist further. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190. Thank you for your feedback—it helps us improve future models and better support our consumers.

    Great affordable option

If you’re looking to swap to stainless steel from nonstick, READ HOW TO USE THEM & CLEAN THEM. All of the negative reviews are from people who did not read how to use them. They are very different from nonstick.

    Very good pans

Good pans. They last a long time. You have to use oil when cooking and not leave the pan unattended. I recommend olive oil or avocado oil. But this is healthier than coated pans where the coating comes off.

    Great swap from non-stick pans

Takes some getting used to if you are used to non-stick pans, but well worth it. I would just recommend getting a good stainless steel cleaner.

So far so good! These heat up quickly, read the directions first and use only medium heat. They are easy to make non-stick using the method of heating to medium high, rubbing with oil/butter, letting it get to smokepoint, then wiping out with paper towel. Then turn back down to medium and start cooking! No toxic non-stick coatings needed! Great pans for all your everyday basic cooking needs. The old pan lids fit on these too, so no worries that they don't come with lids.

These pans do exactly what they are supposed to do. The people who are saying that everything sticks do not know how to cook in stainless. Your pan is too hot, cold, or you are too impatient if your food is sticking to stainless. might want to learn how to use the pans correctly before leaving reviews

    Cook like a dream.

I usually use cast iron, but lately they are too heavy. I treat these pans just like my cast iron except no seasoning. They cook like a dream. Two rules : always let the metal heat up before putting anything in the pan #2 always use a good amount of oil or butter to cook with.

    Read the directions...

We switched to these because they are non toxic. If you never experienced cooking with these types of pans before read the directions on how to use. As others have commented everything sticks to the pan, in my case yes it happened too. I then decided to read the directions that came with the pan and food no longer stuck to the pan. Sometimes is user error. I love the pans, I think they are easy to clean and cook with once you familiarize yourself with the directions.
