I love this ice cream maker! It is so easy to use and is much quieter than I expected. The pots fit nicely in my small freezer. I wish I could buy more pots without having to buy another Fast Freeze. Makes wonderful, creamy ice cream very fast. A little hard to push the blades forward and hold them to clean. Overall, fairly easy to clean. It's just a perfect ice cream maker for me.
Favorite blending machine for ice creamy texture!

love this bad boy! I'd love it more (as in that last star to make this a 5* review) if I could get my hands on additional dessert cups as a set of three that I could purchase separately!

My kids LOVE ice cream and have been pestering me for a while for a machine to make it at home. As I don't have much cupboard space, this is a great option as it slots in a drawer and is easy for the kids to lift in and out themselves and the pots are the perfect size for a quick and easy dessert that they can share after dinner. So far, we've made vanilla ice cream with different mix ins (oreo cookies, smarties etc) and a mango sorbet made purely with frozen mango. The taste of the ice cream is incredible plus you know exactly what ingredients have been used. A very successful addition to the kitchen that will save us a fortune on shopt bought alternatives.

Because of cancer, I avoid sugar, so I was looking forward to making sugar-free ice cream. I have many medical and PT appointments, so finally found time to use this. I watched several videos, then prepared the ice cream, and froze it per instructions. This morning I took my laptop to the kitchen, to be sure to follow instructions correctly. Took cup from freezer, let it sit for 10 minutes. Then attached cup to mixing assembly, attached cup to mixing assembly, connected the power handle to mixing assembly, plugged the unit in, pressed power button, followed instructions 10 thru 13 in the Cuisinart manual. Now I can't remove cup from mixing assembly. I asked Google, and have tried suggestions: wrapping in a warm towel, using hair dryer on low. It's been over an hour, and cup is still stuck. It will not turn to the unlocked position. Side effects from chemo, radiation limit my time and activity. If I can get the cup to separate, I'll try again. Will change rating if I can master this!

Hello- Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us about your Cuisinart. Please make sure you are removing the motor base before trying to remove the cups. This will disconnect the cups allowing them to be removed.

Best ice cream machine ever. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Makes smooth ice cream and smoothies. It’s so much faster than the bigger machines and great for drawer storage.

Have only used a couple of times & have not been disappointed. Uncomplicated & easy to use. I think for the best end product probably best to incorporate & blend your additions to the basic mix before freezing. Takes up little room so easy to store.

This is the perfect size for me and makes awesome ice cream! I have food allergies so I have to use soy milk and I also have to watch my sugar intake so I eat a small amount of my ice cream after dinner. This makes a cup of ice cream and although it's hard to stop eating it because it's sooo good, I can make the container last for up to seven days. I came up with my own recipe for chocolate peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream and you would never know it's not real ice cream. I just mix everything together in the container, put it in the freezer for 24 hours and then within three minutes I have awesome ice cream!

Great machine for making cream. Simple to operate, freeze mixture and in 24 hours you’re enjoying the results. Only Con is they need to have extra containers to purchase on line. 3 pint containers included with unit aren’t enough, especially if you have a family!

Totally pleased with this product! Great to have ice cream with so little effort put into making it. Also a plus is that the containers do not take up a lot of space chilling them in the freezer as with the typical bowl. Very pleased with the taste and consistency of the ice cream and making them with whatever ingredients you choose. Great as gifts. Another big plus is that it’s so compact and very easy to operate. Excellent product!

You have to play with it to find out what works. First time I used it, I ended up with chalky ice-cream. I came up with a recipe using frozen yogurt that had added honey. I then added 1 jigger of heavy cream, 1 jigger of coconut cream, 1 capful of pure maple syrup and this made the perfect ice-cream. I did not use sugar nor salt because I did not want to use either. The trick to this is to keep the plunger down for longer than demonstrated after it turns red. Plunging up and down 3 times (as demonstrations show) did not produce good results. The more you plunge, the creamier it gets. The perfect number of plunges for me was 10. The CONS: difficulty lining up the plunger after inserting it...I have to wiggle it around several times to get it into place. Lines on the outside and on the plunger showing exactly where to insert plunger would sure be a big help. Secondly, the blades are very difficult to clean. You have to depress the blades to clean under them and you will need both hands to do it if you have weak wrists or are not very strong, so then all you can do is plunge it into water which does not really clean it. You need some kind of a brush to do the job right so now you can only use one hand to depress the blades. This needs to be re-designed with a lever that keeps the blades down when cleaning. Overpriced for what it is. Too small for milkshakes and slushies IMO. Cuisinart needs to make available extra containers sold separately. The PROs: Small unit that stores easily. Does produce creamy ice-cream with effort. 1/2 pint for me is ONE serving NOT two as you don't fill contents to the top of the container.

This Fast Free Ice Cream maker was a very pleasant surprise. It is so easy to use! I bought it because I wanted to be able to make healthy frozen deserts without any additives. I generally follow the recipes that are included but I have also changed the recipes and the deserts still come out great. I also love this maker is compact and can fit in a kitchen drawer. It is generally easy to clean but I hope that more cups are offered in the future.

I gave this 4 stars because it is difficult to clean. If you are older and have arthritic hands you might want a different type of ice cream maker. Other than that it is fun to play with recipes. The best one I have made so far is 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup milk and 2 Tbsps. real maple syrup, can top with walnuts if desired. This came out nice and smooth and creamy. I haven't tried sorbet yet but I plan to soon.

Love the convenience and the ice cream is delicious. Especially the blueberry cheesecake ice cream. Would love more recipes! Being a diabetic, I can make no sugar added and protein ice cream without raising my blood sugar. I bought the gray and would like to suggest that the options on the handle are printed darker. Elderly eyesight is not as good as it used to be.

I love ice cream and buy it frequently. I don't have alot of freezer space, and these cute little cups are stacked so nice. They stack in a little more than the footprint of a large coffee cup. No screw on lid, it just slips on to keep other foods out of it. I love my ninja twisty to make my frozen fruit bowls, but ice cream, you can't do in that. You can make sorbet's tho. Anway, I have been using it with sparkling soda water's. Soda's, and have made some ice cream with Milk, Heavy Cream, Toriani Syrup, and 3 tbs of Splenda, (put it in a jar with lid shook it up well and poured in) took about 5 minutes. Just before doing my dishes, put in freezer. Following day- it's ready to be prepared to be eaten. Simple less than 5 min- choose what you want and blend. I have used it every day that I have had it, and refill as soon as one is empty. I have put ice cream and mix in- (I don't drink alot of milk- but I bought some and cream too!) Worked beautifully added Carmal flavor, then bought a few more flavors like French Vanella, and some fruit syrup flavors for new ideas. Wonderful for a single or small family home. Can't wait to buy new bowls when able to- they hold slightly more than1 cup of liquid. Now I want to be clear I LOVE the concept and would give 5 stars if the below were fixed- or redesigned. Why I give it a 4 rate- The shaver is not really for making a slushy with just water and making adding a syrup to it like an ice cone. When pressing down the plunger, the blades get stuck to where they cannot back track and it gets your product your shaving stuck behind the blades. Unless you let all melt again and start over. The plunger cannot be released, and I have had to take a small narrow knife behind the release button to get it to let go, and it came out with all of the shaved ice packed behind the knives. There is no way to keep the plunger depressed to clean it. Even the directions are to hold the plunger and the outside to cleanse. If you aren't strong enough, they snap back. Again, I really love this- but this feature is a downfall of safety for in my own opinion. I highly recommend this and only remind people of taking care to clean. Such easy to store, not much bigger than one of those wand mixing accessories.

I really like this little ice cream maker. I gave away a big maker I had; it was so big and complicated. Get the ice, cook the mixture, just not for me. This is so easy and gives me just the right amount in each serving.
