Q: Do you have to pre-freeze the bowl

submitted by Nisisi - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi Nisisi - yes, you need to freeze the bowl prior to use. It's recommended you freeze the bowl for 12 to 24 hours prior to use. To determine whether the bowl is completely frozen, shake it. If you do not hear liquid moving, the cooling liquid is frozen

Q: Does this require ice and salt?

submitted by Debora - 5 years ago
  • A: No. It has a freezer bowl that you need to keep in the freezer for at least 8 hours before making the ice cream. Longer than 8 hours is even better.

Home-made Ice Cream Made Easy!

5 out of 5 stars

My husband purchased this for me for my birthday. I used it for the first time to make homemade peach ice cream for Labor Day. I followed the recipe in the provided booklet and what had always seemed like an overwhelming task (when I was younger, we used a hand crank ice cream maker) was made easy-peasy! Once all the ingredients were poured in, after 25 minutes, it was time to eat! Granted, most of the ice cream was soft-serve/creamy, not frozen, but I had the opportunity to freeze it for 2 hours before serving. If you don't, the taste is still delicious. Even my 94-year old mother thought it was delicious and she's very particular about her home-made ice cream!!

Soft ice cream is my favorite! This machine is a close second to the real deal and affordable. The directions are easy to follow and not complicated. The machine works fantastic, I enjoy every bite of the flavors I have made so far. I would recommend this 100%. Thank you!

Surprisingly good and easy to use! The recipes provided in the book are the best. I researched options for an attachment for a mixer vs another appliance, I believe I made the best choice.

I have done a lot of research and settled on the Cuisinart. I am beyond happy with it. We have experimented with all types of recipes and so far a big thumbs up. I will admit I love Pinterest for trying new recipes. Would love to purchase another freezer bowl soon. I use Lactaid milk, I can FINALLY enjoy ice cream again!! It’s so simple to use and the ice cream is so delicious.

I've made several different types of recipes with this so far. We are plant based eaters so I needed a machine that would still perform with those ingredients and the Cuisinart has not failed. Your machine was recommended by a food blogger that I've followed for years.

Ice cream comes out to a consistency watery than soft serve . You have to put it in freezer for max of 4 hours to get ice cream quality.

After watching Joanna Gaines make ice cream with her Cuisinart I knew I had to get one. Not having to use ice and salt and make a mess was a no brainer for me. I bought this table top ice cream maker and have enjoyed making so many different flavors of ice cream. One of the best investments I’ve ever made. So easy and quick. I highly recommend this item.
