A: Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray Free & Clear is free of dyes and strong perfumes. It has a light pear scent.

A: Like traditional dish soaps, Dawn Dish Spray is not designed for use in the dishwasher. The high level of suds could cause your dishwasher to oversuds and create a mess.

Q: Why is this marketed as "free and clear," which for about 20 years has meant fragrance-free and dye-free? I bought this thinking it was actually "free and clear" and couldn't use it. Inconvenient!

The new scent is too much. I love the cleaning ability and will go back to dawn dish detergent but the new fresh scent is to overwhelming to use. It's like a bad perfume. Please go back to the last scent formula.

I don't want anything that smells this synthetic, like a chemestry set, to be used on anything, including my car. You can bet Dawn does not use this on precious sea animals covered in oil.

The new scent is horrible and offensive. I had to air out my kitchen and the horrible fragrance took hours to dissipate. This new scent is extremely unpleasant and way too intense. Since so many consumers like myself have fragrance sensitivity, I really do not understand why you do not make an unscented version.

Don’t list items Free and Clear when they have added scents/fragrances. It is So Misleading. I only use unscented products. So even if you think it is lightly scented it isn’t for someone who is highly sensitive to fragrances.

Hate the new “clean” scent. It smells like laundry detergent (eww!). Not the scent that I want to smell when taking a drink of water from a freshly washed glass. Makes me concerned what nasty chemicals are hiding in the new fragrance. I’ve been a devoted and loyal Dawn fan(atic) for decades. No other dish soap would ever enter our house. But now I’m devastated because we have to find a new dish soap. I threw out the large Dawn we just purchased because of the new fragrance - we have kids who are sensitive to fragrances and Dawn was always the safe option. Not any more. Massively disappointed. Please bring back the original scent!!!!!!!

I've been an avid Dawn user and trusted it to clean my baby's dishes, but I just bought the Platinum new scent and it is terrible. It has a horrid chemical smell with a lingering rancid smell. I will no longer be buying Dawn sadly. Please go back to the original fragrance!

What happened to the old Dawn Platinum? The new Dawn Platinum smells so bad it’s nauseating. My husband usually never complains about product smells but he wouldn’t stop talking about how the new Dawn smells so overpowering. He also commented how he washed a knife and used it to cut an orange and then could taste the soap while eating the orange. We notice that you can’t rinse it out completely on dish clothes and they turn sour over night. We basically chucked the huge new bottle down the drain.
