The only 5-star reviews here are from influenster.com, and your actual customers all rate it 1-star because of the scent. Stop trying to boost the rating with fake reviews. The smell is terrible, you know it, and you are bleeding customers to competitors. If you have any hope of recovering your customers, you need to admit you are wrong and bring back the old scent. And, no, the Fragrance Free one you suggest as an alternative is not the answer

Been using dawn for years and just started a new bottle a few days ago. Noticed a new scent that that is much stronger than before, and lasts in the air much longer after washing dishes. I switched to dawn a while back for a good cleaning dish soap with a mild aroma so as not to being as off-putting when needing to clean pets and/or their dishes or surroundings. I'll have to see if I can return this now-opened bottle (as it wasn't labeled any different than last one with the original scent), but regardless, I guess dawn doesn't want pet owner's business anymore smh.

I bought a refill for my original dawn, my husband filled the bottle an I just used it. Ughhh!! What an awful smell. I’m very sensitive to scents and this is giving me g me a headache. I can’t get it off my hands. HELP BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL. P,EASE!!!

This new formula is HORRIBLE!!! It reeks, gives me a headache and the horrid scent lingers on dishes even rinsed repeatedly. Used it for ONE sink of dishes, not realizing it was so very different until I couldn't figure out what the awful smell was... returned to store and will never buy again. WHY would you change this?? How are animal/kitten rescuers still using this to bathe baby animals with? I can imagine it's not safe for them at all if it causes headaches for humans!

Dawns simple fragrance but effectiveness always does the job the first time. Packaged environmentally friendly. Reasonably priced for all sizes

You have ruined the best dish soap ever created. The original Dawn that you sold for years was perfect the smell was very comforting and it smelled so clean. It was not only a great cleaner for dishes and pots and pans but it also freshened up toilets and was a great floor cleaner. The smell was perfect for people with allergies and it was so light and no one ever had complaints about it. It was the reason you sold so well for 50 years. Suddenly you changed it and now we have this. This new dish soap that you sell is nasty. The worst part about it is the strong musty smell it has. The smell lingers on dishes and I could smell it on my frying pan one morning when cooking my eggs and that was it for me. I started buying seventh generation dish soap and that stuff works perfect. I no longer use your product and I would only go back to it one day if you went back to the original scent. The current scent you are using smells so bad and the key words I would describe it as is musty, overly strong and terribly unpleasant. Whoever works in your lab needs their head examined.

Why can't companies leave a great product alone? ABHOR THE NEW SCENT. Original should mean ORGINAL. Unaltered. After 40 years of using Dawn, we will not be buying this product anymore. P&G ruined original Tide powder laundry soap with its new, improved scent (why????) and now they've ruined original Dawn dish detergent. There is such a thing as too much aroma - good or bad.

Such a good dish detergent! I have used this kind for as long as I could remember! I also use a little in my laundry from time to time, helps with my husbands dirty work clothes! It’s afffordable and it works, can’t beat it!

Had been the best but the new scent is overpowering. I reached out to customer care first because I assumed it had to be a manufacturing error but then when I went to buy I replacement I found they're all like that now. I've used Dawn Original for many years and while the soap itself is effective, I can't use it anymore from the ridiculous amount of perfume. Makes me sneeze while doing the dishes, the whole house smells for at least half a day, and no matter how much I rinse out the dishcloth after, the hamper smells of it until the wash is done. I hope they have some sense and return to the old fragrance. And announce that they do, because I'll be using another brand until then. The rest of this bottle will have to go.

Great product of the dish washing. Down never disappoints me. The glassware or dish looks shiny after used it. I still can use it even I allergic for most of detergent.

I bought a new bottle of “original” dawn after my gallon jug ran out and INSTANTLY knew there was something HORRIBLY wrong with the smell. I thought I bought the wrong thing but after digging I realized the original dawn no longer exists. I literally couldn’t use it without gagging so in the trash it went. Not just the kitchen trash but all the way to the outside trash can. I wish there would have been an uprising about the scent change as much as the Cracker Barrel logo change.

Just bought a new bottle of Dawn Ultra, apparently the same one that I have always been buying. The new scent added to it is very strong and lingers on the dishes, especially anything plastic. The previous version did not do this. Very disappointing. I will throw this bottle out and will not buy again.

At first I thought it was me, and then I went to the Internet and did a search for "have they changed the scent of Dawn Ultra". What a rabbit hole. I am not as scent sensitive as some, but I am scent sensitive, particularly when it comes to cleaning and personal care products. This may be the first "change in 10 years" but you are about to lose a significant portion of your loyal customer base who cannot abide the lingering, cloying, new scent. And, of course I've purchased a big bottle. This new scent is giving me headaches. I currently have the kitchen door and windows open in an effort to dissipate it. My stomach is churning. Why would you RUIN a product that was a staple for your customers. Never again. And, don't even suggest the "No Scent" version - I've sniffed it. Definitely not my idea of "no scent".
