Unfortunate fragrance change.
Unfortunately I can’t use dawn dish soap any longer. The new fragrance is bad enough that it gives me headaches. I have washed dishes by hand for the last 23 years, and always used original dawn. The fragrance is strong enough that it registers on the my air quality monitor. Our house typically stays between 150-600 parts per billion measures VOCs. I tried to use it today for some cleaning, and the VOCs tripled from 560 ppb to 1780 ppb just while later. It has remained elevated for three hours so far. The old recipe did have some fragrance, but it wasn’t nearly so bad.

This is a good product. But someone opened the top on the bottle and the dish soap was all in the bag and leaked on my truck seat.

If a spill occurs, we recommend that it be cleaned up as soon as possible, and we have some advice if any is remaining on your truck seat. Large spills typically require use of extraction-type equipment. You may need to have the upholstery cleaned professionally, or to rent a carpet cleaner. Use the carpet cleaner with water only, no cleaning agents (you may need to use a defoamer). For small spills, blot up as much liquid as possible with a dry cloth, paper towel or sponge. Then pour a small amount of isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) on a sponge and blot up any remaining product. Be sure to do a colorfast test first to ensure upholstery dye can accept this treatment. I love dawn dish soap! Just a few drops of soap goes a long way—cutting through grease and hard to scrub food. It’s fresh scent is not over powerful but the right amount of clean. I love that it is gentle enough to use on pet dishes and other household items.

New Scent....never buying again!
I cannot use Dawn anymore due to the new scent. Lost a customer (many others I know as well). Have had to switch to other products by other companies.

The new scent is unbearable! I've been using Dawn blue for years to clean my dishes and CPAP tubing, but the smell of the new one is HORRIBLE! It lingers -- even on my hands -- and it's just awful! I'm definitely switching to a different brand. 💯 Signed, Ex Customer Hopefully enough people will complain and Proctor and Gamble will STOP MAKING IT!

My favorite dish soap! Aside from having the very best smell, it is also a powerhouse at cutting through grease and other hard to clean grime. A little goes a long way compared to other dishwashing liquids.

Dawn dish soap is great for dishes and so many other things! I use it on our farm in sprays, to wash equipment, and cleaning out feeders. It works great and does not harm any animals. Great product!

Gross new strong scent!
Opened a new jug of what I thought was the same blue dawn I've been using for years!!! It smells so strong i hate using it! Sorry dawn, but I'm going to have to switch to something else now!!! Even my kids noticed how strong the new smell is! It's headache inducing!
