Relearn coffee from the Specialista point of view
I bought this coffee maker after a very interesting research that I had to make to make the best choice. I m convinced I had the perfect choice. My specialista coffee maker takes me beyond coffee taste with such precision that I have surfed into new brands of coffee cause now I m reknowing coffee taste again. I recently learned that the perfect espresso portion contains around 18 g of coffee powder and I am mastering the skill with every new Sip. As a therapist, I have to make sure my energy sources come from the best places, and caffeine from my morning coffee has become a ritual :) This has been beyond my best auto gift ever...

The Best De'Longhi I've Owned
I've owned De'Longhi espresso makers for nearly 20 years, and the La Specialista is the "third generation" in the product lines I've purchased -- and by far the best one yet! The machine is a pleasure to use and delivers a dependable, consistent, and thoroughly satisfying espresso drink. I should mention that the machine it replaced was given to my daughter and her family, and is still in service. Since I purchased my machine in winter, I've yet to try to cold brew function, but the espresso and American options have been excellent, and frothing wand is professional level. In fact, what I always tell people about the La Specialista is that they can expect commercial level quality in a smaller footprint. I love the design as well, and it looks great on my kitchen coffee bar.

Poor performance
I've had two The first one the boiler broke The second one the grinder stopped working even though I got new bur and then the boiler broke be aware. Plus when they replace it and it's under warranty they only give you a refurbished unit

Great coffee but leaves a mess
Makes great coffee but also makes a mess. Large gap between the grinder and the dosing and tamping guide allows the grinds to shoot out onto the machine and the counter.

I am now an Espresso man
I am not a review writer, but felt compelled to hop on here to say this machine rocks. I had never personally made my own espresso before and it was super easy to pick up and I am now very well caffeinated. Really enjoy making my espresso or cold brew with this machine as part of my daily routine/ ritual. Buying good coffee and making tasty espresso now is a game changer!

Love it!
I’ve been using this machine for about a month now but I wanted to use all the features and give it some time before I wrote a review. I was a barista for several years and this is my fourth? at-home espresso machine in a few years, and I LOVE it. I genuinely didn’t know you could make espresso with bright crema on top at home until I got this machine. The texture of my lattes is smoother and creamier, the quality is better, and it’s so easy to use. I’ll start with the cons because I only have a few: •the steaming wand doesn’t move as much as others I’ve used and if I have a full pitcher of milk I either have to life the machine or spill the milk to remove it once it’s steamed. It also occasionally takes a bit of time to get going.. initially it seemed like it was getting slower over time but it seems more sporadic now. •the auto shutoff is way too quick, IMO. PROS: •The water tank and drip tray are both really large and do not have to be refilled or emptied often •very straightforward and easy to use once you figure out your initial preferences •there are several options for grind level, water heat, etc and once you figure out the best one for your coffee it makes really high quality espresso every time •the double shot is larger than most which I really like, but there’s also the single shot option • it’s SO easy and mess-free to grind and tamp the beans •milk frother can get milk really hot, and really smooth •I love the americano option, it makes things so easy • the cold brew is pretty good considering how quickly it can be made

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I bought this machine ~3 weeks ago. It never worked out of box. They are requiring me to pay to return the espresso machine. The communication has been pathetic to say the least. I'm sure they will respond with another automated message explaining they are sorry. Don't buy from them, they are truly a dysfunctional mess.

Didnt work first time I used it
Product is defective steam wand doesnt work. Plugged the machine in for the first time and wasnt able to get steam or plain hot water ti come out of the steam wand.

TERRIBLE DO NOT BUY
I bought this machine and fresh out of the box it will not grind beans at all. Absolutely terrible do not buy unless you want to brew whole coffee beans. Would rather boil water on the stove with beans in it than use this absolute piece of junk.

Grinder could be better
Only “downfall” is the grinder. I got this because of the grinder on it and it’s not 100% accurate. Makes it difficult to get a perfect grind but honestly works better than a blade grinder so I can’t complain too much. Brand new at espresso and I’ve learned so so much. Overall love this machine. I had to buy a high extraction filter basket as well and it instantly made a huge difference in turning my sour shots even.
