Q: We're using compostable diapers that need to be collected in a biodegradable bag/liner. Would this pail be compatible with a bio bag or other liner or can it only be used with the Dekor Eko liners? TY

A: Hello Macs--Technically you can use other bags/liners with Dekor Diaper Pails, but our unique refill system makes emptying your Dekor Diaper Pail much easier, and allows you to empty your pail as often as needed--you don't have to wait until it's full, or waste any empty space in a bag. Keep in mind, there are very few composting facilities in the US that are properly licensed and equipped to handle the composting of products that have come in contact with human waste, which is considered a biohazard.

Extremely flimsy and arrived damaged
This is incredibly flimsy and arrived broken, dented, and scratched. The seal on lid also wasn't in place either. Even if it had arrived in good condition, the plastic is really flimsy and there are lots of gaps in the seams, so I'm not sure how this would ever hold smells in. I saw so many good reviews and really wanted a compact diaper pail, but this is extremely disappointing. I wouldn't even trust it for regular trash, much less fof diapers.

You can smell the poop through it which is like the complete opposite you’d want from a diaper pail. i’d return it but i threw out the box because all the reviews say it’s good. well it sucks

Very smelly !
Very smelly. Put this in room to avoid having to avoid taking poopy diapers to the outside garage can. Used one day and I’m going back to taking them outside. Left the whole room smelling like a big whiff of poop!

Go for the plus size...
I wish I would’ve purchased the bigger pail, this classic size needs to be emptied daily (with a 2 month old baby- can’t imagine bigger sized diapers fitting well). It did come pre-bagged but only lasted 11 days so keep that in mind when choosing a diaper pail

Do not Recommend.
The diaper pail is fine and functions like most diaper pails. It doesn’t keep the smell out completely, it’s really not much better than the diaper genie in regards. However, I just ran out of the provided bag and you can not buy UNSCENTED refills. Every single one is scented. We don’t use anything scented in our home and I will be unable to use this. I do NOT recommend.

The Dekor Diaper Pail does have multiple features in place to conceal odors, the light fresh powder scent of the refills is one of those features. Our Cloth Diaper Liner is our only unscented option at this time.

Smells awful
I love the set-up of this and how it has a little door that shuts as soon as you drop the diaper in, but it smells HORRIBLE. Have only used it about 2 weeks and the odor that comes from it smells like sewer, which the whole point of a diaper pail is to keep the odors in for me..

The Dekor Diaper Pail optimizes features like the trap door to contain smells. The Dekor Diaper Pail also utilizes a continuous liner system which allows you to take out one diabolical diaper or a buttload of diapers without wasting a whole bag. We do recommend cleaning and emptying the pail more regularly at this time if your little one is on solids.

Way better than a diaper genie
I'm so glad I put this on my registry instead of a diaper genie. It's a great size that fits a good number of diapers without taking up a lot of space. It's so easy to drop the diaper in the trash with one hand while holding the baby with the other. Unlike a diaper genie, you don't have to stick your hand in. We've had a great experience with it. Do make sure that you read the instructions and understand how emptying the bag works before you jump in to do it because it is a little different but still very easy.

Cheaply made
Bought one in-store at Target because of its price and discovered the gray latch was broken. Returned that one and ordered another. The second arrived with a crack on the back and one of the hinge knobs to the door broken. Returned the second one and won't buy again.

Nice but small
We always had dekor plus and it got broken after years of use and I by accident order delor classic. It’s too small, with babies and dirty diapers is sometimes challenge to put it through the top, the whole family complaint about it so I had to get the dekor plus again. Wanted to return this one but my oldest daughter claimed it for her room and it actually fits great, she does a lot of art and it works nicely since there is no need to touch to pick up the top. I really love dekor it has a great design. Just the top opening could be bigger even for the classic size.

I would give it 5 stars but the smell protrudes after maybe 5 diapers in the pail. Thats the only down side. It has enough room for maybe 10-12 diapers at a time but the smell is a bit much after 5 diapers. I like that the pail is a good size though but thats my only complaint about the smell.

Small and stinky
I wish it was larger so I don't have to empty so often and I could start smelling it some after a month and a half. The push down flat is annoying because it slaps back up at you. You can use regular trash bags with it though. If you're a looking for a diaper pale I'd honestly just recommend getting a trash can with a cover that can be opened with a step pedal.

Does a solid job for about 10 mos
Someone else said after a year they couldn't get the smell out the bin, this is true, though it is still better than the Genie; I believe the smell permeates the plastic. There was a metal pail ubbi that i wanted to try but i think it was over $100, and my husband bought this before i could buy that. My 1 yr. old wears size 4, hopefully he should be potty trained soon. To help, i dump the poo in the toilet most of the time and wrap the nappy up tight before depositing. We keep the pail in the bathroom, i could never tolerate it in the room. especially those daipers after solid food started.
