Diono Solana 2 with Latch Pack of 2 Backless Booster Car Seats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are a few reasons I would not recommend purchasing this. 1) it’s far bigger than any booster seat we’ve send and definitely not good for travel as advertised. 2) Diono does not cover return shipping and it is exorbitantly expensive to return (ie more than the cost of the item. It was my mistake not to check the return policy but it is very off market to not cover return shipping.

I like that they’re portable, light weight and easy to carry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these boosters for our vehicles because our child had outgrown his convertible car seats. Unfortunately, despite measuring 'the fit' of the boosters given by Diono (which did fit in our vehicles' seats) there was no way to buckle the seat belt! Other reviewers have mentioned this same problem but referenced different types of vehicles. We have sedans so expected them to work fine. Based on the manufacturer's dimensions, I felt confident the boosters would work; they did not! Customers should carefully measure to the actual seat-belt buckle or they will find themselves as I did, paying for return shipping. I requested that Diono, at the very least, resize the seats the entire width which includes the seat-belt housing.

Color and functionality is good, and it was a great value. Only complaint is that the base is very wide, and it makes it very difficult to buckle.

I have been excited to try out the new Diono car seats. I had to go out of town right after I got them and I misplaced the directions for putting them in the car. I am still looking for it.

We were SO excited to buy this product. We're a long-time customer - we have 4 Diono Rainier car seats of three different model years. In contrast to those boosters, we LOVE those car seats so we know Diono isn't (at least wasn't) a company who sells poorly designed products. Those car seats have been through luggage check multiple times at airports, been shipped back and forth across the US, been in and out of cars, have hundreds of thousands of miles on them and have been protecting our kids for 5-7+ years. We occasionally joke with the kids that they have the most comfortable seats in the car. Sure, the seats are heavy and a royal pain to clean goldfish out of, and the memory foam pad isn't well protected from liquids, but if we're ever in an accident I have no worries that they'll be as protected as possible. Now, on the other extreme we have these Solana2 boosters. The good: They're cheap The bad: They don't fit correctly in a captain chair (doesn't sit into the seat back fully due to the booster's arm rest design) The latch hooks on the booster are "upside down" so you either need to twist the lanyard or struggle to get it to squeeze between the latch bracket and the seat bottom (vs simply clip into the bracket) I tried to install one of the boosters with a thin felt pad under it and after only 90 seconds and no kid in it, it had already left a divot imprint in the seat. The bottom of the booster has lots of bumps (rounded bolt), lots of uneven surfaces/gaps/ridges and things poking out (the underside of the seat has a place where the plastic has a thin plastic edge which even cut through the plastic bag in shipping). If you care what your seat will look like after using this product, you might want to think twice. The FAQ discusses adding a memory foam seat cushion isn't allowed - what they don't tell you is the seat is hard plastic. The back edge is a E shaped uneven lump (and who would want to sit on an E-shape?) with no padding besides the thin fabric cover and the rest has a ~1/8"? hard foam pad glued in place to the plastic (which I can't imagine is easy to clean). If you have a smaller kid who might be sitting near the back edge (or one that cares about comfort, this is horrible) The website has a bait and switch promotion "Join the family and save 15%". Only after you give Diono all of your information and sign up for their mailing list do they tell you it is only for larger purchases which are over a certain price point. Diono support is friendly, but their call center ticket system is horrible. Fedex incorrectly delivered these to some other house (delivery photo looked like a different neighborhood) and Diono offered to ship a replacement while they sorted it out with FedEx. We sent the required information in reply to their email and it was never added to the ticket and no one followed up. So instead of us having booster seats when we needed them, we kept watching for the replacement and it never arrived. The boosters eventually ended up on our door step, by a lady who was nice enough to drive our misdelivered package across town (but the box got wet in the rain at some point) -We tried to reach customer service "there are no support agents currently available to take your call" to get this all straightened out. -Eventually got through to customer service, had to explain the situation a couple times. They offered to adjust our purchase price by the 15% promo they advertised or they allowed us the opportunity to try to dry out the soggy box and then drive it across town to ship them back prepaid (only because of all of the hassle) shipping to return the seats for a refund.

Perfect size for both of my grandkids! They love them and they’re so comfortable. Nicely padded and with cup holders too. They were simple to install.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are good booster seats, but it would be great if they were tapered on the back so that they could nestle better in captains chairs that have side cushions. The base for the Monterey 4DXT fits well in this type of seat because it is more tapered…but the holes where the high back attaches make it a little more uncomfortable than the Solana 2. If the Solana 2 had the same base shape as the Monterey 4DXT, it would be great!

Latch clasps are not a good size for Bmw X5 latch bars. I had to crimp them smaller to get them to fit in. Dimensions of the seat don't work in captains chairs of x7.
