Q: Does this item come with the charging base?
submitted by JHG - 21 days ago
A: Yes. It comes with the charging coaster.
submitted byBrand Expert - 14 days ago
Q: Is there a lid for the 14 oz mug? If not then why since it is required to get a better battery life?
submitted by fussy - 11 months ago
A: There are lids that can be purchased seperately for either the 14oz or 10oz mugs. By adding this accessory it will double the life of the battery.
submitted byBrand Expert - 10 months ago
Q: Does the charger come with an outlet plug for re-charging the battery? Or is it easy to replace the internal battery? Basically, how is the charger/battery kept charged?
submitted by Toni - 1 year ago
A: Charging coaster comes w/ a power adapter cord which is region-appropriate. Since the internal battery is in the base of the mug itself they do not recommend replacing the battery.
submitted byBrand Expert - 10 months ago
Q: What is the weight of the mug without liquid?
submitted by Pawpaw - 1 year ago
A: 14oz is 16.1 oz in weight without liquid

Poor customer service - stopped working < year, no response from Ember

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend

I purchased this for my mom for Christmas last year (2023). She loved it and has commented on how much she uses it every time I visit. Unfortunately, she let me know today that her Ember is no longer working after less than one year of use. She has spent the last week going back and forth with Ember customer service with no results. She has all the original packaging and has provided all of the requested information. I’m going to see if Target will respond since the product should be under warranty. Very disappointing that what started as a great gift has turned into a huge hassle.
love it, but …

I have had my mug for a few years, and I truly cannot live without it. Unfortunately, the app update has not been good. I continually have to re-pair my mug and some days it will not pair, despite being fully charged. The bugs in the app need to be ameliorated.

Worse app since the update. This worked well until the update, then I have to constantly sign in and it doesn't recognize the coffee in the cup, stating it is empty.

I received as a Christmas gift 2023 from my daughter, the mug didn’t even last a full year. Ember wouldn’t stand behind their product telling me the mug was 6 months out of warranty. Not sure how that is true. The mug is not worth the cost, don’t waste your money. Any Yeti or similar type of insulated mug is as good or better at a much cheaper price. I wouldn’t recommend the Ember cup.

I love the bug but unfortunately lasted less than two years and then would not charge anymore. Had to replace the base once and a few months later the mug no longer works. A little expensive to last less than two years. Pretty disappointed about that as it is a great product except for this.

I’ve had my 14 oz mug for over a year and I love it. I use it almost every day to enjoy my always-hot tea. I have two coasters, one at my desk and one by the couch, so I can always have a hot drink. The battery off the coaster isn’t always great but I’m not usually far from the coaster. Thinking about getting one for my partner for Christmas!

My 2 year old mug will no longer charge or keep anything warm. I have tried everything from resetting the base to pushing the reset button on the bottom of the mug and nothing works. Time to scrap the very expensive mug. Also, after downloading the newest and latest app, my mug will not pair with the new mug after spending nearly an hour trying.
HORRIBLE COASTER - LASTS FOR A FEW MONTHS

As expensive as this cup is - it shouldn't have a shelf life. The charging base (coaster) the prongs always collapses which causes the cup to not charge or heat up. Lasted for a few months and the coaster broke. They need to work on the battery life and the coaster because it SUCKS!

I was very excited about receiving my mug! But that didn't last very long. It was incredibly difficult to connect it initially!!! Once it was connected and I didn't drink out of it for about 2 months, I couldn't get it reconnect with my phone... an it blinking pink or white all the time Now ...

I’ve had ours since 2018. I stopped using mine everyday because it’s 10oz, but my husband uses his. We did discover that if the bottom of the mug is wet it will corrode the pins on the charger. We had to replace the base once. Now we make sure the mug is completely dry before placing it on the charger. We’ve had the same bases and mugs for 6 years. Sadly the batteries aren’t holding the charge as long as we’d like now. I’m replacing our current mugs with the slightly larger 14oz. As far as electronics and batteries go, 6 years is a pretty good run.
Was a hit, now a big miss!

Used to love it. I am having the same issue as many reviewers. The base has two little springs and one is recessed and can’t be fixed making this expensive cup unusable. Very disappointing!

I would give this a 1* for a few reasons.. 1 the heat doesn’t heat the whole cup.. just the bottom.. so water on the top is more likely to be tepid while water on the bottom is warmer.. the cup size is very small.. it’s intolerably small if you buy the gold edition.. and this doesn’t have a lid… I bought one… and bc of these negatives… i haven’t used it in awhile…
