Summary of reviews

The product has received a mix of enthusiastic praise and constructive criticism from guests. Many appreciate its ability to keep beverages at the desired temperature, making it a great companion for daily routines. However, concerns about battery life, lid functionality, and fit in car cup holders have been noted. Overall, it serves as a reliable option for those who enjoy hot drinks on the go, but improvements are desired in certain areas.

    Does Not Hold Charge

I've had this product for 3 months. It slowly started losing its charge and would die almost immediately after I fully charged it. Not worth the money, you might as well get a coffee mug warmer and save yourself a large chunk of money.

    The Most Perfect Mug

I got this for Christmas this year and it is honestly the GREATEST gift I have ever gotten. I have had the insulated mugs (stainless steel and plastic). I have had the hot plate style coffee cups that supposedly keep your drink hot. I have had every kind of mug you can imagine and this is the first one that ACTUALLY KEEPS THE COFFEE PERFECTLY TEMPERATURE! Since Christmas, I have used this mug every day 3-4+ times a day and it's absolute perfection. When I go out to run errands (in the arctic midwest cold) it maintains it's temperature beautifully for several hours. When I'm home, it comes around the house with me as I do chores... or more accurately, sits wherever I forgot it until I come back to it and it's still perfect for drinking. If I get a latte from a shop, it's almost never hot enough, so I've started bringing Ember (who I named Brewella DeBean) and it heats and holds the drink exactly where I want it to be. This mug is perfection. It's actually saving me money on coffee because now I'm not dumping out the ice cold cups I forgot about to make more or wasting store bought drinks that got too cold, too fast. I'm obsessed. It's amazing. This is the absolute perfect "busy mom" mug ... we've all done the, I guess I'll just microwave this cup I forgot about thing... and then forgotten about it in the microwave - Ember solves all that. This mug is excellent.

    Poorly insulated

Really poor insulation. As soon as the battery dies my coffee quickly turned ice cold. For a travel mug I expected it to retain heat for a bit after the battery dies. I’m very disappointed, I loved my mug for home but the travel mug does not measure up.

I absolutely love my tumbler!!! I got this for Christmas and it’s such an amazing gift! I have used it every single day since Christmas for my coffee and tea. My spouse got me the 10oz mug a couple years back and while I love it I always wanted more capacity and the ability to take it with me in the car. The tumbler is perfection for this. I can take my coffee on the go and it will stay hot the entire ride! I am hoping ember will create a car charger for this size as well since the travel cup catcher doesn't work for the tumbler. That is my only ask! Fingers crossed!!

    Heavy and awkward.

This item is heavy and awkward. It holds the 16 oz that I needed, but it is tall and has no handle. Disappointed! The curved bottom is the same as the mug but with the height it makes wobble and easy to tip over. I have the ember mug 2, that I love but it is too small. Why don't they just make a 16 oz mug with a handle? Make it just a little wider and a little taller to make up the 2 oz and dont forget the handle! I'm so frustrated that I spent that much money for something I dislike using.

Does not last! I bought the traveling ember as a gift and after 2 years it no longer works. The cup says it’s charged and when you put the coffee it says it’s not charged. Save your money and just buy a double insulated stainless steal travel mug.

I work in a medical office where I constantly need to go in and out of the rooms. I hated, hated, hated with a passion coming back to my desk to a cold tea. I was previously using the 14 oz ember mug but I wanted a larger one with a lid to prevent dust from falling into my mug. I also wanted a mug that could hold the battery for long car trips This one is AMAZING! I wash it every night, let it air dry, and fill it with warm coffee before heading out. The battery charges fast and lasts me the 1-hour trip to work. I always finish the tea before the battery, I haven't had any issues with it. I wish the company would create a car travel charger for this mug as sometimes I completely forget to charge it at home and my car rides are long.

You'd think a travel tumbler would be spill proof

This thing shouldn't leak if it's meant to be a travel tumbler. It has all the trappings of something that's leak proof- silicone gasket on the lid, a sliding bit to close the opening- but alas, the coffee stains in my purse say otherwise. This thing travels with me, upright, solidly closed and sealed, in a purse where it is largely stationary as I sit on a train. Then I walk less than half a mile and somehow in that time coffee escapes through the closed lid and drips into my purse and onto my computer and keys. If I was going to be carrying this thing in my hand instead of sticking it in my purse (closed, upright and stationary!), I may as well have just gotten the mug with a handle instead of this awkward slightly-too-big-for-my-woman-hands-to-comfortably-carry-for-very-long size tumbler. That said, the lid does at least prevent total spillage while traveling and when my kid knocks it over. It does keep my coffee at the right temperature and the app is fine, so the major draw of this product holds up. Just seal future iterations of this thing up a little better, please.

I have had Ember for multiple years now. Started with the 1st gen to go cup now on a 14oz regular cup. Would love to see a 16 or 20 oz regular cup to enjoy a nice cup of Joe at the desk or a weekend morning.

Use an Ember once, you'll never use or buy another coffee mug which makes it worth the investment. Battery life is great for me after years of use!

I bought the 16oz tumbler one week ago and I fully charged overnight. I started using and also set stopwatch and battery lasted for 65 minutes before the red light came on ... the marketing states the battery should last 3 hours..

Battery life is comically low… this product is way too expensive for all the flaws it has. I understand making a small round long lasting battery may be a challenge, but I do know they’ve been making leak proof lids for decades. if this company can’t even get a leak proof lid right the rest of the product design is concerning.

    Needs Handle.

I really wanted to love it. I love my mug and use it everyday but I wanted something to take back and forth to work. First and foremost it needs a handle. I know I probably have smaller hands than most but with the texture of the mug and my small hands it’s very hard to pick up with one hand to drink. Second and not such a big problem is it doesn’t fit in my car cup holder. At least I could buy an extendable cup holder to fix that problem.

Needs longer battery life and/or faster charging

The battery life is too short to take this out with me. For inside only use, I carry the tumbler around and put it back on its charging base when I'm back at my desk. However, when it's keeping liquid warm and on its charger, it does not provide a net charge. Only maintains the charge. It may even drain a bit if the liquid is below the target temperature. Since I'm unable to top up the battery, the battery too often eventually dies while I'm away from my desk leaving me with cold coffee quickly since the tumbler is not insulated (no better than an aluminum can when the battery is dead). Even when there's no liquid, the battery charges pretty slow.
