Great wrap option
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Ergobaby Aura carrier as a part of the Stellar Panel Review. I am a mom to a two year old and four month old. Baby wearing is a huge part of my life right now, and I own several carriers to aid in the process. I tested this carrier through cooking dinners, laundry, caring for my toddler, and witching hours. In short, I’ll say I’m very pleased and would recommend this product. To start, wrap carriers are personal. When purchasing, it’s really important to consider your climate and seasons you’ll be using it during. Personally, I find wrap carrier best in those earlier months, but prefer a structured carrier down the road. The Aura is lightweight, and the feel reminds me of some higher end carriers in that regard. The fabric does not have much, if any, stretch compared to some other brands, but I find this helps keep the fit in place. With more stretchy fabric, the tie loosens over time, and I end up having to hold on to my baby throughout the wear. Additionally, I think this fabric requires less accuracy- with stretchier fabric I ironically spend more time tying to get it on just right. Otherwise, the baby starts off too low and loose, and I have to start all over. With this carrier, I never had to re-tie to get it on just right- it just worked every time. Wrap carriers help your baby feel safe and swaddled, and the Aura is no exception. Even in deeply fussy moments, my son almost instantly calmed in the carrier. With wrap carriers, I appreciate the ability to tuck in his head while he’s sleeping or I’m on the move. It definitely offers stability for younger babies as needed. My only hesitation about this carrier is that it is a wrap. It requires practice to get it on quickly and well because the moment when one or more kids are crying is not the moment. With that said, it’s a great carrier when you have the time or experience to get it on.
