The very hungry caterpillar is a favorite book from childhood for all my 3 kids( 7, 6, and 3 y.o), and they were all looking forward to playing with this set. The texture of the sand and little stamps got my kids engaged to play with this for a good amount of time. The sand, of course, can come out of the box sometimes, and we pick up what we can, and the rest can easily be vacuumed. After playing, everything stays inside the container covered with lid, super easy to store!

It was creative, well put together, but a little messy. I would definitely recommend doing this outside if possible. This review was part of an incentivized campaign.

Only the kinetic sand itself was very small, one bag only covered the bottom of the box and I did not have any sand left for a long time. The figures are safe, as is the sand itself. The sand did not emit a chemical smell and the color was not very bright, on the contrary, the sand had a pleasant aroma. While playing, the children called the figures by their names: apple, insect, penny, etc. Everything is convenient and compact, easy to assemble and easy to transport with you to parks or the playground.

It's great for developing motor skills and imagination and it keeps them busy for hours. The sand it comes with can be messy to clean up but other than that it's a great way to spend time inside or outside.

Ordered this for my niece who has been obsessed with the very hungry caterpillar since she was a baby. She loves to play with different textures and the characters and different shapes kept her attention. Definitely intended for older toddlers and would say that my niece was a little young for this (2) but she still really enjoyed the activity!

My son LOVES Eric Carle books especially The Hungry Caterpillar so this sensory bin was right up his alley. As with any sensory bin it can get kind of messy so I recommend putting a towel underneath the toy area or use it outside. Overall the entire bin was super cute and fun for my son who enjoys playing with it often.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so full disclosure I did not open the sand for photos, but I did once I got the box into my office (had to try and keep it together for traveling there lol). This is a great sand box - I am a school based therapist and this will definitely replace my previous one (as an upgrade). The box is large, substantial, and the items included are pretty good. I think I will end up adding a few more pieces to it but it is for sure a helpful kit to have for my students to play with during sessions. As far as a sensory bin, it is good - I just wish it had a bit more diversity in texture/items to use with the sand box. But overall, it is a great kit.

My son loves to play with it! The material of the fruits are thick foam so no hazard! If you wanna have a sensory bin, you should definitely try this!
