There are six different harness strap positions to ensure a perfect fit as the convertible car seat grows with your child, and machine washable pads plus removable cup holders help make cleaning and care easier so you can keep it in good condition over years of use. Each Sonus 65 Convertible Car Seat is structurally tested for safety in the event of a rollover accident, and meets or exceeds all applicable federal safety standards for side impact testing. Q: my daughter is six year old. She weight 39.2 pound. She is 43inch tall. How came she can't use the belt that was in the car seat. It is too short in her. The shoulder is fine but I buttle it on the bottom.

A: Please call ParentLink at 800-233-5921 for help in adjusting the straps on the Sonus 65 car seat. Any of the representatives would be happy to help you. We're here Monday - Friday from 8 am to 5 pm Eastern time.
submitted byParentLink - 5 years ago

A: She is too big. She is over 40 inches, so she is too tall. And she is right at the border of the maximum weight to use the carseat as she weighs 39 pounds and the seat accepts a max of 40 pounds. Also it depends on how her weight is distributed.

Q: How do you install seat into your vehicle if there's no base?
submitted by 1995 - 5 years ago
A: Convertible carseats don't have a base because they are not meant to be removed with the child inside. You would install the carseat directly into your car and leave it there.
submitted byChristina - 5 years ago
A: There are belt paths on the side of the seat, one rear facing and one for forward facing. Your latch or vehicle seat belt will feed through the belt path and you would attach the latch to the anchors or if using vehicle seat belt you will just buckle the belt in. The seat will come with instructions which does show and explain how to install the seat.

Q: Does this seat come with a base?
submitted by 1983 - 6 years ago
A: There is no base as it is a convertible car seat and not an infant removable car seat.
submitted by151515 - 6 years ago
A: No, Convertible carseats don't have a base because they are not meant to be removed with the child inside. You would install the carseat directly into your car and leave it there.
Not a safe option for travel or everyday use! Light weight but also very very flimsy! The chances that you’ll secure safely the seat to your car are very slim!

We bought this carseat to use for our 12 month old. As others have mentioned, it's really hard to get a secure fit when the seat is rear-facing. There are two other major flaws that made us return the seat: (1) the seat is very upright - when switching from an infant carrier (which is pretty reclined) this seems like a really drastic change. (2) We couldn't get the "level line" to be level with the ground - we'd have to use a pool noodle or rolled towel to get it level (which I know is manufacturer recommended, but sounds so unsafe to me!). We have a Subaru Outback.

Fairly easy install, although with any car seat it does take a few tries to make sure it’s safe. I only gave four stars because it seems to look uncomfortable for him to sit in. Otherwise it seems safe. I don’t hear any squeaking as others have complained of. We have purchased two so far one for mother in law and one for second car. I think it’s a good option for a second/backup car seat. Currently only using in rear facing position.

Perfect car seat few glitches but overall good

I have a very tall son and need a car seat that would fit him. When we got this he still had baby fat at 2 and really need a larger seat on width as well. This was a perfect fit without killing our wallet. Now he has grown taller and become slim and it’s still perfect. Yes the buckle can be tricky usually if you look you have a tiny bit of something in the way. It will not push away a edge of a shirt for example it just won’t click. We have gotten used to checking. And yes the straps always are twisted but that doesn’t stop it from being a solid car seat. I’d buy another for my daughter if she needed one.

Safe, but hardest I've ever had to install in awhile and I've had a ton of different seats over the years. There's also not a docking spot for the top latch when the seat is rear facing. I like that the cup holders come out to clean, but they come out a little too easily and become projectiles during tantrums.

Kept my kid safe in an accident. The car seat didn’t even take a lick of damage either. I was hit by a driver who was intoxicated. He hit my side door at a high speed when he jumped into my lane causing over 6k in damages to my car. Great seat. Would highly recommend and the color is also great. My son also loves this seat and the color. Getting another!

The cup holder inserts can’t be replaced because they aren’t sold separately, so if your child loses one, you’re just out of luck. The cavity they go in just collects dirt and scratches the heck out of the baby’s legs. And, they are super difficult to clean. Babies are messy, it shouldn’t be this hard to clean the pads & belts.

It’s so easy to install. I drive a Camaro and it fits perfectly in my backseat. I read a lot of reviews before I bought it. On some of the reviews they say it makes noises. I have leather seats and I haven’t heard a single noise from the car seat. The only thing I wish it did have was a little bit more cushion on the sides of the head rests.

I don't get why there are complaints about this seat. My son went through this car seat & now my daughter is using it (still has not expired yet). It's perfectly safe, comfortable (I mean, it's a car seat, not a bed), and the cup holders are awesome because they are removable & therefore easy to clean as needed. The straps don't really twist very often at all. We have used our pair of Sonus seats both rear facing & forward facing. It's quick and easy to install too (I most often use seatbelt, just as a personal preference). I would recommend this carseat!

This car seat is lightweight and does the job. We purchased as a second car seat for second car (Honda Accord) and for travel purposes. It is not super padded but it is sufficient as an alternative to our Graco Extend2fit. Our son doesn’t seem uncomfortable with the minimal padding. We were able to transport this car seat without difficulty through TSA and around the airport. We used on a long haul flight from USA to Brasil. Our son was 19 mo and slept in it during the 8 hr flight and during a few car rides overseas as well. It is priced reasonably for what we need. We have been using this car seat since our son was about 13 or 14 mo and he’s still using it at 2 yo now with space for longer use. We used it rear-facing only so far (except on the plane). We plan to turn it to forward-facing soon in the car. If you’re looking for a secondary option or not searching for a seat with tons of frills then this is the car seat for you.
