Q: How do you change battery when needed? My lantern came with batteries installed, so it turns on when switched.....But it doesn't seem to open - so how are batteries replaced? No directions included

Q: There are no batteries included. I tried to put my own 4 or 8 D batteries ($15.00 worth) in and the top wont close now. There are no instructions to list what size it even takes. Any help?

  • A: The flashlight will work with 2 D batteries. It can accommodate 4 D batteries for increased hours of use. When you screw the face of the light back on, the line on the light and the line on the black face must line up. It should screw on and off easily.

  • A: Yes that is the 6V battery for the flashlight, after you purchase it you remove it from the bottom and insert it into the flashlight.

If you’re using just two batteries, you load both stacked on top of each other on the same side so that the positive and negative terminals connect from the top to bottom of the light. Weak switch

Switch broke within a month. Very flimsy design. It can use 2x AA, 2x D, or 4x D batteries. It comes with 2x AA and the necessary adapter.

I received a battery-less flashlight

This large flashlight would have been a good bargain but unfortunately someone decided to keep the battery that was supposed to come with it so I received a battery-less flashlight. Target's excellent return policy acted promptly and removed the charge from my credit account and allowed me to keep the battery-less flashlight. i suspect an inside job so I advise against ordering.

cheap lantern

The items comes with batteries that do not fit, or at the very least you need to buy more. However, if you buy two more then they do not fit in the lantern. It lists you can use 2 or 4, but quite clearly you need 4. I bought this to have in case of emergency so too late to return, but save your money. You'd do better with a match.

got it to work

Unclear instructions but hopefully I can help someone else. With a bit of trial and error, if you receive the AA adapters with the AA batteries, put both batteries positive side up in each adapter and stack the adapters on top of one another on one side.

Doesnt work!!

Came with AA batteries inside of plastic holders the size of D batteries. Tried stacking them in every possible position and it will not turn on. Another reviewer mentioned reading instructions but it doesn’t come with any instructions.
