A: Thank you for your inquiry Siobhan regarding the Farberware Reliance 8" Aluminum Nonstick Frying Pan. To properly clean your pans, use a mild dish washing detergent, warm water and a soft nylon brush or nylon scrub pad. If food remains on the non-stick surface, boil a mixture of three parts water and one part vinegar in your pan on medium heat for 5-10 minutes to dislodge food particles. Let it stand until cooled, then wash with warm, soapy water and a soft nylon brush, rinse and dry. You can also rub a paste of baking soda and water using a nylon pad and let it sit for up to 30 minutes, then wash, rinse and towel dry. Our nonstick cookware is PFOA-free, and the nonstick coatings do contain PTFE - actually, all nonstick coatings from any maker contain PTFE. "PTFE" is basically the chemical name of the nonstick coating - it's the actual ingredient that makes the cookware "nonstick." DO NOT BUY if you have a glass stovetop. For some reason the manufacturer put a rubber ring on bottom that MELTS when using. Took 2 hours to get as much off as possible on glass. Thought we cooked too high. Since most of rubber was off skillet we tried again but on low. Same result. I’m scrubbing my glass top with paper towels again & glass cleaner. Very disappointed.

I only use nylon spatulas and never metal utensils on any of our cookware. We wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. I took a risk buying a Teflon pan because it’s a cute size to make 2 eggs in the morning. However, the Teflon coating is flaking off! This means this toxic material is in our food. Definitely buy another pan. This one isn’t a keeper.

It’s okay, does the job for a cheap little pan. I’ve had mine for about one year now and I need to replace it—the coating is starting to flake off and there are some scratches. Mostly used for eggs, grilled cheese, etc. I’m pretty careful but if you so much as graze the surface with a butter knife it will scratch. Don’t think I’ll be buying the same pan again.

I like that it is large - 14 inches and can fit a lot in it! Its big enough that we can make many different types of meals for my whole family. This is now my new favorite breakfast pan!! I no longer have to cook my family's bacon in multiple batches. I can now get breakfast made in half the time. Plus that handle is nice when I am pouring the bacon grease into the container that I store it in. Really a terrific pan that makes my life easier!!
