I unfortunately discovered a few years ago I'm lactose intolerant. Literally all of my favorite foods contain dairy: cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, pizza, cheesecake... My body just insisted on betraying me. But I'm a glutton for punishment because I refuse to stop eating what I enjoy. These pills cost way less than the name brand and they do work. Although I often require more than just 1 pill... I typically always take 2 if I'm consuming dairy. If it's something that's very heavy on the dairy, I'll take 3. On the rare occasion that 3 actually doesn't cut it and I'm clearly exhibiting symptoms, I'll take another pill or 2. After 20-30 min it'll kick in and I'm all good.
After it happened a couple of times (the first time I thought it might be food poisoning), I realized that about 2 or 3 hours after I used these I would begin vomitting repeatedly for almost 12 hours, and also begin experiencing other digestive symptoms I've never experienced due to my lactose intolerance. I was much, much worse taking these than just eating without them. After a few web searches, I discovered that lactase supplements cause these symptoms for quite a few people. I wish manufacturers would warn about this on the external packaging. As it is, sometimes they warn about allergies, but not these symptoms.
I did not find these effective at all! Also, very crumbly and fell apart in my purse, even inside the packaging.
Side note: I do have severe lactose intolerance and have to take 6+ Lactaid with a dairy meal for it to help my digestion.
I liked these. I feel like they worked but it was hard to gauge when to take more. Also wished you got more, like 100ct. Overall helped me enjoy dairy without so much bloat, gas, and discomfort. Would recommend.
