Formula Change = Absolute garbage
Starting this review with the preface that I'm something of a metamucil connoisseur. I've tried a lot of different types to see what was best bang for your buck while maintaining the quality needed for the constitutionals it would help deliver. With that, I don’t know what Target was thinking, but the new formula for their Metamucil knockoff is nothing like the old one. The previous version delivered exactly what you wanted: reliable, well-formed, thick, sturdy, dare I say girthy poops. The kind that make you feel like your digestive system is firing on all cylinders. The mix was granular but not so fine that it was a pain to dissolve in water like the new one is. This new formula? It’s a watered-down, sad excuse that doesn’t come close. Instead of giving me that solid, satisfying result, it leaves me questioning if I even took anything at all. It’s like they stripped out whatever actually made it work and replaced it with disappointment. Target, you had a winner before — a true competitor to the name brand. But now, you’ve ruined it. I’ll be forced to go back to the real Metamucil because even though it will drain my pockets of money it at least still delivers the strong, put-together results I can count on. Do better, Target. Until then, this stuff is going straight back on the shelf where it belongs.

New Formula is not Effective
Target, please go back to the original formula, which was very effective for improving digestion, disolved well, and had a pleasant taste. Also, the prior formula used a courser type of psyllium fiber which was just right which helped with its effectiveness. Had to return and stopped purchasing altogether.

Gets the job done
Maybe it's a blessing that I didn't try the original formula because I did not find this one to be offensive as many did. It is considerably more affordable than the name brand and it's helped me with my Digestive Health since being diagnosed with celiac disease. It definitely thickens in water if you don't drink it quickly, but I used this for medicinal purposes, not making cocktails. I mix it up and chug it down without issue. And the flavor is decent as well.

If it's not broken, don't fix it!
I've been using this for years and they've changed the packaging and the formula. It's disgusting and it doesn't completely dissolve in water like the older formula. I won't be buying this again unless they change it back, which I doubt they will. I'm going to look for an alternative.
