Q: how long does it take for this to work? does it work immedietly or does it take a few days?

submitted by helpme - 7 years ago
  • A: I know that everyone is different, but for me, flonase worked right away

submitted byKaren - 7 years ago
  • A: Immediately. I find taking this daily with Zyrtec keeps my allergies at bay. Without the nasal spray it's terrible!

submitted byLiz - 7 years ago
  • A: starts to work within an hour or so.

    submitted bykag2 - 7 years ago
  • A: You might notice slight effects "immediately", but full effectiveness takes a few days. It is meant for seasonal use, not for acute or occasional exposure. Please go to the Flonase website to educate yourself. It works well but it's designed for persistent allergies and long-term treatment.

    submitted bysoonipi1 - 7 years ago

Q: what is the dosage please?

submitted by Mirano - 7 years ago
  • A: Hey, Google! From the label: The recommended starting dosage in adults is 2 sprays (50 mcg of fluticasone propionate each) in each nostril once daily (total daily dose, 200 mcg). The same total daily dose, 1 spray in each nostril administered twice daily (e.g., 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.) is also effective. After the first few days, patients may be able to reduce their dose to 1 spray in each nostril once daily for maintenance therapy. Maximum total daily doses should not exceed 2 sprays in each nostril (total dose, 200 mcg/day). There is no evidence that exceeding the recommended dose is more effective.

  • A: Flonaise opens up my ears when I use the spray. It keeps ear infections at bay for me. Great product!

    submitted byChristy O - 2 years ago
  • A: Flonase used to be a prescription, but now you can buy it over the counter. You can buy them in amount of sprays, and, of course, the higher the sprays, the more money it cost. Unfortunately, my Doctor is wrong in prescribing Flonase to me, for I do not have allergies. My ears have been clogged up for 7 years now and I've learned to live with it after seeing every Dr. there is. Start out by getting the least (60) sprays, which cost about $15.99. Good luck!

submitted by INeedAnswer - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in Flonase and for your question. Flonase Allergy Relief Nasal Spray does not contain an added fragrance, but it does contain in very small quantity of the preservative Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol (PEA) which has a characteristic rose scent.

Highly effective for all kinds of allergies

I use to have to get allergy shots years ago until I discovered Flonase. I have used this for a long time now and haven’t had to have anymore shots. It’s highly effective for year round, seasonal and pet allergies. I’m not one for taking any kind of medication, so having a nasal spray that works for allergies is a huge plus. I usually buy it in the multi pack so I don’t run out. It really works and is long lasting. I highly recommend it.

I use a cpap and this does the trick to clear my nose I use it ten minutes before bedtime and I can feel my nasal cavity draining down my throat. Much better than drying chemicals. A bit pricey,

Long Lasting Relief

This is a GREAT product. It’s a steroid, so just like steroid pills people take sometimes, this medicine takes around 5 days to really start having an effect on congestion. But once it starts working, it’s fantastic and there’s no issues using it for long term control of allergic congestion. Usually I’ll use Afrin in conjunction with Flonase for the first 3 days so that I can get some relief while the Flonase takes its time to kick in. It’s a winning combo that I have been doing for a while.

Good medicine, terrible pump

Suz322 - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
The medication is effective at keeping my frequent sinus infections at bay but the pump is awful. Every bottle I have gotten has the same issue where you get a few full sprays and then barely anything for a few sprays. I waste so much medicine priming the pump. The generic version of this has a different pump and works so much more consistently.

It works really well at clearing congestion and calming itchiness. But if you are prone to anxiety this will absolutely cause panic attacks for no reason. I would feel great allergy wise but I’d get rapid heartbeat and dizziness along with shortness of breath. Ultimately not worth it for me because I can use Claritin instead. These side effects are apparently pretty common if you google flonase+anxiety. I’d still say try it out and see if it’s worth it for you! It can’t hurt you.

Flonase Allergy Relief is great for stuffy noses from allergies. It stops sneezing and itching fast. A quick spray works for a long time. It won't make you tired. Use it during allergy seasons to breathe better. It's good for pollen, dust, and pets. If allergies bug you, Flonase helps a lot.

Took this as recommended by my ent doctor and soon after starting it I began to feel a very strange pain in my testicles consistently for two or three weeks until I stopped taking Flonase. Be aware of this side effect which is painful and very scary as I thought maybe I was getting testicular cancer or something.
