Arrived damaged from plasticy label wrapped around mat. Don't like what it is made of. or how it feels. Not like my previous Gaiam yoga mats. Slippery. Hard feeling. Don't like it at all. *review sourced from Gaiam

It arrived very sippery and not usable until it was washed. I was on vacation and unable to wash it where I was staying. I wish I had known this when I placed the order. Very disappointing. *review sourced from Gaiam

This is for any Australian yogis

Ok so I read the reviews on here and went ahead and purchased a similar mat on the Australian site (which won't let you leave a review), but I believe the mat is either different or packaged differently for an Australian market. I purchased a Performance Ultra Sticky 6mm mat and a Performance Grippy Yoga Mat towel. The towel is great. The mat is not grippy, it's slipperier than the cheapest yoga mat I've purchased. I've cleaned it and sprayed it with a mixture of vinegar and water and it still won't hold a downward dog. At the same time I received another mat from a competitor and I can say I've not had the same issue at all, and I've conducted the same 'breaking in'. My advice to any Aussie yogis, if you're thinking of purchasing this similar mat from the Australian site (as I did) make sure you purchase the towel otherwise it's going to be a slip and slide. *review sourced from Gaiam

I have had mixed experiences with Gaiam mats in the past, but make a point to read a wide variety of reviews before purchasing one. I had one similar to this in the past and was pleased with, and feel the same way about this one. The recommendation to air it out and wipe with a wet cloth before first use were helpful, as it still had a slight chemical smell after laying out over night. The mat is grippy and prevents slipping during poses like down dog, although if you're really sweaty, like after a run, there's only so much grip you can expect from a wet surface. Color options are really pretty, and I like the cushion a slightly thicker mat provides. *review sourced from Gaiam

I read the reviews about it not being not slip and despite that I decided to give this a try. It is very slippery on both sides and very dangerous for doing yoga. I felt myself slipping the whole time. If I continue to use this I am sure that I will hurt myself. Very disappointed in the quality. *review sourced from Gaiam
Cheap feel, too stretchy

Very disappointed and regret that I bought this mat. The material is very stretchy and flimsy. It stretches under my feet when I do poses like downward dog or warrior one and the bubbles weren't going back afterwards, much like a stretched out t-shirt. I wrote to customer service about it and got condescending replies that the mat just needed to be laid flat when new so the creases would go away, so they completely ignored the issue I was addressing. After lots of back and forth, they finally told me that I could return the mat and provided a link for the return for. That's when I saw that I would have to pay for return shipping. Given the shape and weight of the box, shipping would cost almost as much as I paid for this mat. Going to donate it to someone instead. Lesson learned - won't be buying direct from Gaiam again. I got a great replacement from another well-known company and couldn't be happier. You get what you pay for. The Gaiam mat was just a total waste of money. *review sourced from Gaiam

I reviewed this a month ago and my review was either deleted or not posted. I bought this mat for yoga and using for strength training. Within a few weeks the mat was falling apart and I have pieces of the blue all over my floor. This product must be defective! I included a picture of the missing material previously and am happy to send it in. I thought this would be of higher quality and am very disappointed. *review sourced from Gaiam

I bought this mat to use for yoga and some at home strength training videos and the mat is falling apart. I have little blue holes and bits of the mat around my floor. I have had this mat for about 30 days and have been using it once a day. It shouldn't be falling apart so I'm pretty disappointed since I thougth Gaim mats were supposed to be great. *review sourced from Gaiam
