I've been through the bleaching game before; I know how it goes. I will say this time was different because I have been dye-free for 3-4 years now, so I expected my hair to take the bleach amazingly. Still got the dreaded yellow/orange hues. In fairness, my hair was darker than I realized I suppose. My friend is a hairdresser and says I will need to rebleach but only with a 10 volume developer, then tone (I want platinum). Posting pics before and after. Overall, it's okay, but be prepared to bleach again and/or tone

This color turned my hair (which was already a dark violet) into a reddish brown. Even as a cream it was orange tinted. It left my hair feeling soft, but the color wasn’t in the same ballpark as what was described/shown on the box.

The instructions say to rinse the hair until the water runs clear, which I spent like 30 minutes in the shower trying to do. The water never ran clear, and today was the first day I washed it since I dyed it, and it was bleeding a lot. I used cool water too. Is the water ever gonna run clear, or have I wasted my time and my money?

I picked this color carefully to match my prom dress almost exactly. Was nervous when the color was going on much more orange than anticipated, but having dyed my hair before understood that sometimes color goes on different than it turns out and waited it out. It did not improve after I rinsed it, did not improve after the first wash, did not improve after several washes, and now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with my hair again. Waste of money, I'm sorely disappointed as in terms of performance itself, the dye is very good. Gives dimensional color, not overly damaging, etc.. However, the color is not the same as the box and I no longer trust Garnier products with my hair.

Double disappointing in my house. My husband and I used together. His hair is very short and blonde. Mine is long and had 2 inches of Virginia dark brown and gray and the rest originally dyed a blue black. I lifted the blue black and the pieces of hair framing my face.i expected purple where it was lifted and a purple tone where it was still dark with glints of purple where the gray is. Hubby expected a bright fun purple. He got fire engine red and I got a combo of bright red and red toned back. Why is this color called violet??? Now we are stuck with it, i rarely lift my hair because i don't want to make it unhealthy and i wasted a lift on a color labeled incorrectly. Seems like a severe lack of quality control.

Hello KellieandRyan! We wish you could see the results you were hoping for with the Nutrisse Ultra Color V2, Dark Intense Violet (Spiced Plum. The results should be a s a dark purple shade with added intense violet tones. This shade works best on natural hair that's between light brown to dark brown. On bleached or highlighted, the results will be more intense. Because dyed hair takes color differently than natural hair, we don’t recommend using it on hair dyed dark brown or darker. s a dark purple shade with added intense violet tones.

My previous color was light to dark brown. This came out very red and does not give off purple at all. While the color I ended up with is not hideous it is definitely not as advertised. Have used this brand a lot in the past with good results. Looks like other reviews are having a similar issue. If your looking for purple choose a different color

I fall into the dark brown category on the side of the box, which lead me to believe I would achieve a purple tone. However, it turned my hair an orange red. I've never used this brand before. I will never again. I will have to go with a darker shade in another brand to cover this up.

This product is a joke. My daughter wanted a shade of purple and this turned red. Now my low self esteem daughter has to go to school like this. She has virgin hair . So no reason for this to happen. Time to look else where . Garnier needs to do better

I'm a natural redhead and I wanted to brighten up My natural color. I loved the color shown on the RZ4 box, The photos show a nice copper type of red on the back of the box. My hair is not highlighted or dyed so of course I figured I would end up with a nice red... WRONG!! The color is a dark, almost cherry red with purple/ Berry undertones. Nothing at all like the color on the box!! Very upset, I hate how it looks.

Hi there Chrislee! We can see this wouldn’t be the result you were hoping for…It sounds like the hair has grabbed too much pigment, leaving a more extreme result. This color is made for use on natural medium brown and darker hair and is still a fairly deep color. Hopefully, as you shampoo, the hair will let go of some of the excess pigment and show more copper tones. I coloured my daughters hair with this last night and it was a disaster! The roots at the front turned pink, but the bulk of her hair the colour did not absorb. I’ve been doing my own shades of red for years so not like I am a rookie. We even used 2 boxes as her hair is thick. It was completely saturated and we left on the correct time. Not sure what to do……how soon can I reapply something to correct?

Luckily, although I DID want to try violet, I don’t mind the red, because I’ve gone red before. But, your company REALLY needs to start listening to these criticisms and adjust the color formula.
