Don't buy!
Installed per the directions and tried multiple times but the refrigerator refused to recognize the embedded identifying chip. GE refused to help since it was purchased through a 3rd party. It was a waste of time and money. I'm thankful that Target gave a full refund.

Water filters are fragile
The filter you sent leaked, When I bought my refrigerator the filter that came with it leaked. I love my refrigerator I do not like your filters. When it leaks it floods out through the down through the door down through the bottom all underneath my refrigerator all over my floor if it happened once I get it but the one you sent to me through the mail also leaked so now that's twice. I will pick them up local handle them like their eggs.

Terrible filter
The filter did not work even though it was the same model. The filter is a bit different from the original filter. This is the first time I changed the filter and followed the instructions exactly as directed. I had an ERR message. I tried several times, but to no avail. No water came out of the dispenser. I called GE service and explained the issue. They asked if I put the old filter back, would the dispenser work. The old one did work. They are sending a new one. I shall see. GE is sending a new one and I will see if it works.

Overall refrigerator is nice
water dispenser on frig to me is slow. Ice dispenser seems to jam up also. Any suggestions?

Problem Water Filters
I bought 4 GE XWFE filters for my new GE refrigerator……NONE of them worked! What a waste of money! A GE repairman came to diagnose the situation. He concluded that the chip in the filter was not communicating with the computer board in the water system. Sadly he said this was not an uncommon problem. He had one new filter on his truck. He tried it and that one worked. When is GE going to correct this problem? Will I have to buy 5 filters to get a good one when I have to replace the filter in 6 months?

Enjoying Our New Profile GE Refrigerator
We recently had our new refrigerator installed and we ARE EXTREMELY Happy with our new GE Profile Refrigerator! Always wanted one but never had the space to put it. We recently remodeled our kitchen so we were able to get the refrigerator we always wanted! Thank you for waiting for us! Love the canister for water and the easy dispenser. We are using the filter that was in the fridge and have already received the replacement for when it goes bad, and feel for now that is a good way to start making sure there’s always one here and ready to go. We are big water drinkers.

It did not work. Kept getting the error message.Had to buy another one. I had the right kind, but the frig would not read it.

Best change we made in years
We recently switched to the GE café refrigerator. Our old brand we couldn't use the water from the refrigerator because the filter would plug up after two weeks. The company said it was our hard water so we lived with it for years. The filter we have now works perfect water taste great, no issues with the filter, would highly recommend.

Refreshing and good tasting
The filtration is amazing. The water tastes as it was from a fresh spring. We also have a reverse osmosis under the kitchen sink. But this filter gives us better testing thirst quenching drinking delight. Installation is super easy.

Overpriced filters
Pretty disappointed how overpriced these filters are, and they prevent us from buying any aftermarket filters because they have a chip system which I find completely unethical.

Your GE Appliances unit has a patented leak detect technology that offers protection against the risk of several potentially costly failure modes. If a leak is detected, the RFID component communicates with the unit and shuts the water supply off, which other replacement filters are not capable of doing. We also offer a bypass plug that can be used in replacement of the filter if you prefer to use an external filtration solution or not filter your water.
