Cascade Complete Dishwashing Liquid Gel Fresh Detergent - 120 fl oz

Congratulations, Cascade and P&G for ruining another perfectly fine product. The old lemon Cascade Original was effective and the smell was not overbearing. It did not leave residue or scent or taste on dishes. Since it was replaced with this Complete formula - and following the directions on the bottle and my dishwasher to the letter - I continually have a residue on my dishes. It leaves a horrible lingering scent in the dishwasher. Even worse, the overbearing scent can be tasted in food. I guess it makes sense - they ruined Dawn in the same way. As for cleaning - it is no better or worse than anything else. I guess I'm off P&G products for good, then.

Leaves yucky taste on dishes. I preferred the Target brand dishwasher soap that was cheaper and didnt leave the icky taste on the fishes, but unfortunately Target discontinued it.

I’m a dishwasher technician and maintenance specialist so it’s safe to say I use my machine correctly everytime, all my wash arms are always free of any blockages & my dishwasher is cleaned once a month and is probably the most sanitary dishwasher in the world with how clean I keep it. I’ve been using this gel on and off for many many years and it seems to struggle in different water types. It leaves a ton of spots behind on dishes, and before you say “oh try our cascade rinse aid” I’m already using it and my dispenser stays full at all times. I switched to powder, and the spotting immediately stopped when using powder detergent and keeping my rinse aid dispenser set to the medium setting. If you have hard water or moderately soft water don’t use this, use powder or pacs. This gel will clean fine, but doesn’t have enough anti spotting agents in it. You need to correct this cascade. This has been going on for too long and it’s been one of our favorite gels and it’s time that this gets addressed, it should be able to sorkin all water types and there’s no way you guys don’t know this in the lab unless your not testing it in multiple different water types. Also, your platinum pacs cause immense oversudsing in softer water, that needs to be addressed as that’s been ongoing ever since you released them in the 2000s. It’s 2025, why is it so difficult for you guys to correct these things people have been complaining about for years?

I think this is a great brand and I prefer the liquid over the pods. Sometimes the pods don’t always dissolve all the way. It doesn’t leave any streaks and gets the job done.

As they say, if your dishwasher isn't cleaning your dishes, it may not be the dishwasher, but rather the detergent. My dishwasher is 24 years old and I felt it was no longer cleaning the dishes well. I switched to this detergent after having used generic brands over the years. I have to say I have noticied a difference. The dishes are clean. Don't get a new dishwasher, get a new detergent.

Like it better then pods

We just happened to switch to this when we ran out of a well-known store brand that we had been perfectly happy with. And WOW! We never realized there could be such a difference in the cleanliness of our dishes. But it's absolutely noticeable. It was immediately apparent that we had been using a subpar product and Cascade Complete has gained a household customer. Well done!

I strongly dislike this dishwasher detergent liquid/gel. It always leaves a white film/residue on all my dishes. It is not capable of cleaning stuck on food. I have tried loading my Whirlpool dishwasher with pre-rinsed dishes and it still leaves residue behind on all my glasses, dishes, and silverware. I've also tried adding less and more detergent with the same result. The detergent can be tasted when drinking water too...gross. My dishwasher is only 6 years old and was recently chemically cleaned with Affresh dishwasher cleaner. The water in my area is not hard, so this truly is just a bad dishwasher detergent. Spend a little more on pods which have significantly better cleaning/shining capabilities. They are also more convenient and have less plastic waste.

Strong scent, you can taste it when drinking water out of glassware, film on dishes.

Leaves a scent in my dishweae making the food taste like soap

The Original product removed stains from coffee cups effectively. Can't find this product anymore. This new product doesn't work near as well. Forced to switch brands.

Price too HIGH! Price of ALL groceries is ridiculous!

I always used Cascade Original and loved how tea stains and chocolate milk stains came out of my mugs and plastic cups. Since I can no longer find the Original, I had to switch to the Complete formula. It does NOT get out these stains. I am going to have to try a different brand of detergent or wash my dishes by hand. Not sure why you would change a product to something that doesn't work as well. Maybe it needed to be tested by actual users. And don't tell me it's my water or dishwasher because it worked fine until 2 weeks ago when I switched to the Complete.

Gets my dishes clean and doesn’t leave a residue. Will be sticking to this over the individual pods from now on.
