I used this bug spray for our Fourth of July party, and I was seriously impressed! The scent is soft and light with a hint of green tea and mint—so refreshing that even my husband commented on how nice it smelled (and he never notices stuff like that!). It didn’t leave my skin greasy or sticky, and there was no weird film either. Best of all, it actually worked! We were outside for hours, and I didn’t have to worry about bites at all. This is definitely my new go-to for outdoor get-togethers.

With that being said, my family and I have been putting this to test since we received it from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and these are my thoughts. First and foremost, the spray application is super convenient, especially when dealing with children. It's twist top lock makes it easy to throw into our bag, whether we're heading to the beach, the woods, or just out and about without fear of it leaking everywhere. The mist itself is super fine and spreads evenly when sprayed without leaving our skin sticky or feeling like there's any kind of greasy residue on it. The scent itself is light and refreshing. Nothing too crazy or over bearing, but definitely more pleasant to the senses than others I've used in the past. Now for how well it actually works. For me, my son and husband, this worked just fine. The bugs were kept away, no annoying, mosquitoes or flies or anything else bit me while I was using this. On the other hand, while we were sitting by the fire on 4th of July, my neighbors had come out to join us, however they had forgot their bug spray. I tossed them this, and they applied it. Minutes later, they were still getting bit so this seemed not to work too well for them. Three stars given for that reason alone.

Upon initial application, the spray went on nicely and smelled great! But after about 15 minutes, our arms and legs felt sticky/tacky, almost like dried sweat. My daughter only got one bite, which is remarkably low for her, and my son and I were fine. Overall, I would use again because it works (and smells light and non-chemically) but I would definitely recommend showering afterwards. Like, I'm not sure I could wear this all day.

I mean, “green tea and mint”? Sounds like a spa day for your skin, right? Add in the promise of natural ingredients, and as a mom of two wild kids who basically live barefoot in the yard, I was hopeful. Let’s talk application: Easy breezy. Spray, swipe, done. No greasy residue, no weird stickiness. It fit into our prep-for-outdoor-chaos routine without any drama. But how did it feel? Honestly, it felt super light—so light, I kind of forgot I had it on. Until about an hour later when my arms started itching like I'd rolled in grass clippings. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely noticeable. Now, performance. Sigh. We tested this on backyard adventures and some foresty hikes where mosquitos are basically land sharks. Verdict? Not great. My youngest got nibbled more than usual, and I had at least two bites pop up right behind my knee. That’s not a spot you forget about easily. I've used other natural bug sprays that did a better job, so this one didn’t earn a repeat in my pack. The scent? Despite the promising name, I couldn’t really detect the green tea or mint. It smelled like. . . bug spray. Not offensive, not memorable. Just “meh. ” Final thoughts: I love the idea of Grand Tongo. Clean ingredients, nice branding, and it was easy to use. I live in a rural area with lots of wetlands around. We have an insane amount of mosquitos and a fair amount of ticks as well. With this spray I noticed a marked difference in the amount of pests that were swarming me. I didn’t think twice about my son using this product either. The Green Tea and Mint scent was fresh and not at all overpowering. The spray applicator was even and effective in getting a nice coating of big spray effectively on us to detract the mosquitos. Once the spray was on my body I didn’t really notice it which is also a win. I would absolutely repurchase this product.

I didn’t know I was in the market for a new bug spray but I’m glad I found a new favorite! The product was easy to apply and smelled great. The smell is subtle and not overpowering which I prefer. I also really liked that I didn’t feel gross after applying it. I actually forgot I was wearing any bug spray. This bug spray was perfect for the whole family (toddlers and adults) on our camping trip. It worked great, not a single bug bite! My family will get a lot of use out of it this summer and fall! It didn’t linger too long so I forgot that I was even wearing it It feels very light and actually kind of refreshing on the skin. I used it on my arms and legs and felt protected on my evening walks. I also like that it is safe to use on children. Highly recommend!

Even being outside for just a few minutes, you can expect to come back inside with several bites. I sprayed the Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent on my arms and legs and watched mosquitoes come near but never land on me. I'm impressed! The smell is pleasant and light, like an airy but familiar perfume or candle. It's not too strong at all. It is not sticky-feeling on my skin, but I could feel the light layer of it. The spray nozzle made it really easy to apply. The smell did stay on my skin after washing with soap and water, which I'm not a huge fan of, but the product works, and that's a relief. It didn't feel too heavy or greasy, though I did still want to wash it off before going to bed at night. The fragrance was also very light and pleasant; it didn't smell the way most people think of "bug spray". It was very easy to spray on. It is a continuous spray so you want to keep that in mind when spraying. It does make it easier to apply to large coverage areas. I used this spray while outside in my yard, which is surrounded by trees and wooded areas. I did not get bit at all so it seemed effective. I think this is a good option for bug spray.

First, the spray bottle is secure and easy to open with just a click, which is great for taking on the go, as I don't have to worry about any spilling out. Second, the spray feels extremely lightweight! It doesn't feel extremely noticeable, wet, or sticky like other brands I've tried in the past. Third, I really love the green tea and mint scent. It's rather neutral and doesn't have an unnecessarily sweet smell to it. I'm actually pretty adverse to heavy scents, so I love that it makes me smell nice, but isn't overpowering. It was so unnoticeable, unlike other bug sprays that I forgot that I was wearing it. I used the Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insert Repellent bug stray anytime I was outside for an extended amount of time because I am a person who doesn't like bugs! So anything to keep the bugs away is well worth the try! While wearing the big stray I was protected against insect bites. I absolutely loved the fragrance of the bug stray. The scent was noticeable and light but not overpowering and strong. The scent reminds me of a fresh cup of Green Mint Tea, yum! The application process was surprisingly smooth and very easy to fit into my daily routine and skincare.
