Not as good as NUWAVE...BY A LOT.
1. The temperature calibration was off. Water simmered at 150° setting. Temperature is limited to preset values so no adjustmrnt is possible. Water boiling briskly when temperature set to 175°. The active heating area is small so pans heat from very hot center to perimeter. That definitely affects frying eggs and other dishes whe browning meat or searing steaks. I bought this because I needed to replace my old, heavily used Nuwave and there was a little saute pan that was perfect for my down-sized kitchen's toaster oven. Even that pan was unimpressive. The ceramic coating on the cooking surface was poorly applied with some obviously thin spots. Green Pan's prices are high but not their design or quality control. I

Good, but gives off strong plastic smell while in
So far, I've only used it to boil water for pasta and rice. It recommends 270 degrees for such a task, but I have to put it up to 300 and increase the time that it usually takes. This doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the burning plastic smell while in use. I bought this portable induction cooktop after I read about all the harmful chemicals and toxicants released by gas stoves; however, I question what chemicals are being released by these cooktops made of plastic. In my research, I haven’t been able to find one portable induction cooktop that’s not made with plastic. No one has done a study on it yet, but I can't help but wonder what kind of toxic chemicals are being released by the burning plastic of these portable induction cooktops. Are we simply trading one harmful product for another?

Tiny cook area
I was disappointed that the cook area is only 4 inches in diameter. I bought this hoping to heat evenly across a pan with an 8 inch base.

When it works it works great
This is the first induction cooktop I've found that doesn't have awful coil whine. It heats pots up fast and doesn't take up much space. We have a number of induction compatible pots and pans, though, that don't work with the cooktop. This includes pans from Greenpan themselves. The cooktop simply won't turn on when they're on top. I'm inclined to blame the pots/pans and not the cooktop.

Works for me!!!
I'm having my kitchen remodeled and thought that this little cooktop would help with the weeks of no stove and it sure has lived up to it's name. Perfect for heating water to cooking eggs. This is extremely well made.

Weird temperature calibration
I bought this so I could avoid turning my house into a sauna with my gas stove in the summer. I've been using it nonstop to make jam and I'm really frustrated with the temperature calibration. It goes from 1-10 in theory, but even 5 is hot enough to boil a 3 qt saucepan, so I do most of my cooking between 2-3. If I'm using a pan that's any smaller than 3 qts, it's nearly impossible to get the temperature right to simmer. This desperately needs more fine control for lower temps.
