A: Yes. I’ve used TurboTax for many years. I do two state returns save them as pdf print and mail to my state’s Revenue Department.

A: I have used the deluxe for years and while they do push you to buy the higher priced products, the deluxe does my self empoyment business expenses very well. Give it a try.

In general I am happy with the product. I like the ability to carryover info from the previous year. I like that I can e-file up to 5 federal returns for my family. The interviews helped me understand and navigate an unusual situation I encountered this year. I was, however, consternated by one bug in the K-1 portion of the software. When I finally figured out what was going on from my troubleshooting and called HRB, I discovered that it was a known issue in the 2024 software. I am disturbed because the same bug was present in the 2023 software.

Deluxe has always been my favorite tax software, but this last year it messed up. The IRS kept denying my return. I had to do some research and the solution was that I had to enter last years AGI to 0 instead of what it actually was. It wasn't easy to find this fix, but the IRS then accepted my return.

I did my taxes with h and r block software. I used your software to pay my taxes using a credit card. My credit card was charged, yet the money never went to the IRS. I received a letter today from the IRS saying I never made a payment.

One thing missing in this software I would like a feature where I can see what taxes I paid and from what source. Example SSA withheld $xxx. Brokerage X paid $xx. carryover last year paid $xx.

The product is mostly good, but it's not good for joint filing. The data that is entered should automatically be attributed to the specific spouse. For example, my wife would enter in her information, but the software would put it under my name, so the next time my wife opened the software to work on her part of the return, it wasn't immediately obvious what information she had already entered and what information she still needed to enter. Along the same lines, the Filing Status Calculator is practically useless as I had to go back through all of my records and re-enter everything (except W2 income). What's the point of using software with a filing status calculator if I just have to manually create 2 separate returns at the end? The software should be able to compare joint vs separate on its own based on the information we entered.
