Q: Is State tax E-file included?

A: This is VERY misleading. The answer states, "Yes, if your state allows efiling it is supported for one efile." However, you do have to pay an additional $20 for it.

Q: I am doing my son's taxes separate from my account. I see that I can do 2 federal tax returns and efile in one account. Can I complete 2 state returns if I print and mail them when I file .

A: Yes. I’ve used TurboTax for many years. I do two state returns save them as pdf print and mail to my state’s Revenue Department.

A: I have used the deluxe for years and while they do push you to buy the higher priced products, the deluxe does my self empoyment business expenses very well. Give it a try.

I have been purchasing H&R Block Deluxe for many years and I have always found the software to be so easy to follow. Even if I have a question about what I need to do, the instructions are very clear. Cost of the software I also consider to be very reasonable.

The software for the State (CA) showed that I owned no penalties - however, I just received a notice from the Stare Franchise Tax Board that I owe about $18 in penalties! Not a big deal, but the software should have got that right!

The federal software worked great, but there was a glitch in the state or I would have given it 5 stars. Fortunately H&R Blocks phone support with a woman named Karen was just great and will certainly keep my wife and self H&R Block customers for hopefully years to come.

I used the H&R Block Deluxe Software to prepare and submit federal Form 1040X and NJ 1040X after I realized I made an error on the original returns. The software interview questions made the process much more efficient and accurate. And I really liked the ability and ease with submitting the for electronically. That said, with respect to continuous improvement ideas, the navigation tools, while pretty good, could have been a bit easier. Overall, it's a really good software package, but there is some room for improvement.

After all these years it is still a problem to try and go back to change something and then return - sometimes have to advance page by page. Hard to get to a human with a problem. But once I managed that the help was great 5 stars. Bottom line: your people are great - your software not so much.

Have been using this program for at least 15 years. It has gotten more complex over the years. The background worksheet should CARRY FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR OUR DRIVER'S LICENSE INFO TO THE CURRENT YEAR.

The interface fonts are too small and they cannot be increased. The interactive prompts are sometimes misleading. This can result in 1099 data being entered in more than one place, resulting in incorrect computation of tax liability. Tax data is not always automatically carried over from the Federal return to the Delaware return.

The IRS recognizes issues with the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS), including problems with entering 1099 data and errors in tax calculation, often due to duplicate entries. The IRS offers temporary workarounds. For state returns like Delaware, federal data may not automatically carry over; manual review might be needed for accuracy. Software is reasonably clear and relatively user friendly. However there sure gaps in instructions that are challenging to work through (e.g. IRA qualified charitable deduction entry is cumbersome to locate and Schedule A lists are not easily used). It is easy to electronically file the 1040 return with fast response from IRS.
