Difficult to navigate certain topics…specifically 401k contributions from K1 form. Couldn’t use electronic file as it was too difficult to resolve issues…didn’t pin point the corrections.

Finished my taxes, finally, after waiting for months to get ask the paperwork together that I needed, and went to submit it, and it was rejected twice. The explanation for the rejection was absolutely useless!!! And it wasn't at all clear what to do next. So, I just had to print 50 pages and send it in. What a pain in the a%&^!!

Federal was great, esp since I used H&R last year. However the state portion (California) was fatally confusing when it came to amortization and depletion of rental property. Basically it was undoable, so I skipped it and am sure I lost some refund. You have to fix this. Like give a detailed explanation so even a 7 year old can do it .

It's really very good! But some things are difficult to find, figure out, and my situation raised questions that could not be answered. Since I was filing late, I had to buy the software instead of use the online program. Support--which was always helpful!--was only available during working hours. Unfortunately, that didn't serve my needs.

I filed an extension. Instructions for State of Ohio are when finally filing the return a copy of the Extension or Confirmation be attached. I could find no way to attach Federal Form 4868 or the confirmation number. I tried Chat help but the agent could not help me either.

I bought this ran the check but keeps rejecting my I printed out the form and mailed it in back it April it is now mid August and still no refund

Quite a few things that could be improved. I had issues with removing my previous tax preparer from my 2024 return. The help chat was no help, wanted me to start a new return, I resolved it by just deleting the 1040-SR, it was re-created without the previous preparers info. Need a way rename forms, I own 5 properties and trying to remember "copy 1" is this property, "copy 2" is that property, is a pain. Why do I have to assign all mileage for a car to one property, Why can't mileage for all cars be a deduction for all properties? Might not be possible under IRS rules.

The software works reasonably well once you know its quirks. Data on mutual funds entered for the Federal return are not reliably transferred to the state return. Another complication is that you are what # worksheet to transfer data to without any giving any clues. Not great. I have flagged these before. Nothing gets fixed. I have been using this software for decades, when it was still freeware.

Wasn't impressed on navigating through the process. To edit or modify an input figure, "back" screen seldom gets you there. Instead, it's necessary to know where the figure is placed within all the forms to git to it. I would have liked to see a reference to each of the interview questions as to where it's used. Also, State e-filing is extra cost in addition to the H&R Block State return.

There is a bug in printing/saving pdf on Mac, there is jumbled incomplete text except the cover sheet. They seemed to be interested, but I never heard back. The program has no updates, so apparently it ain't gonna be fixed. To be clear, the only part of my return that I can see outside of their program is the cover page. Maybe some other company's program will be able to load the return and print it?
