Colostrum is traditionally collected in single-use syringes often made from harmful plastics. Q: Is it easy to pour the liquid colostrum out when ready to use(unfrozen)? What about frozen colostrum, how easy is it to pour that out? And how does one go about thawing it, does it work well with a bottle warmer?

A: Hi, thanks for your interest in the Haakaa Silicone Colostrum Collector Set! Yes, the colostrum is easy to squeeze out for feedings. For thawing frozen colostrum, you can place it in the fridge 12-24 hours before use, place it in a cup of lukewarm water, or roll the collector between your hands. Do not refreeze once it has been thawed.

Q: Can you collect a couple drops, freeze and then keep adding a couple drops at a time until the container is full?

A: Hi, thanks for your interest! You can collect a couple drops at a time and use the same container as long as the frozen collostrum does not thaw. do not refreeze once thawed.

made mistake of ordering the 1ml syringes like the hospital has to try to harvest colostrum and quickly realized it’s impossible to collect and pour into them. this being a one stop shop where you can pop squeezer off to easily pour expressed liquid in and then put top on and feed baby straight from it is amazingly functional and i’m so happy i found them. even if the price for 6 is steep. nice they are sterilized already too.

First time mom here- prenatal colostrum collection was recommended by my doctor after we found out my baby might need to be delivered early. These tubes were so convenient for collecting and freezing whatever I could hand-express. I like that I could collect the droplets using the tip, or take the whole lid off to collect greater volumes. They are small and easy to store in the freezer. Will buy again with any future pregnancy!

Great product! With my first baby she came a little early and I didn’t prepare at all. It was a lot to nurse and pump colostrum in between feeds to make sure she was getting enough. It would have been nice to have some prepared so my husband could help feed her too. Love that they’re so compact. The only thing that would make it better would be an attachment for pumping if hand expressing isn’t convenient.
