Q: A question has been asked about hair color/dye; if you currently get your hair colored at a salon, can you also use this product. The responses have been regarding other medicines but not haircolor.
A: Hi Kathleen - Thank you for reaching out. We appreciate your interest in Hair Regrowth Treatment with Minoxidil 5% & Topical Aerosol for Women. Yes, you can use this item including hair that has been professionally colored. Minoxidil is generally safe for colored hair, but there are specific precautions to take to avoid scalp irritation and ensure the best results from both treatments. When to use minoxidil with salon hair coloring Before your salon appointment: Wash your hair thoroughly to ensure your scalp is completely clean and free of any minoxidil residue. Do not apply the minoxidil treatment for at least 24 hours before your hair coloring service. This prevents any interaction between the minoxidil and the hair color chemicals, which could cause significant scalp irritation. After your salon appointment: Do not apply minoxidil for at least 24 hours after your color service. Your scalp will be more sensitive after being exposed to the chemicals, and applying minoxidil too soon can cause discomfort. Once 24 hours have passed and you have confirmed your scalp is not irritated, you can resume your normal minoxidil routine. Do not try to "make up" for any missed minoxidil doses by applying more than the recommended amount. This can increase the risk of side effects. Potential effects on colored hair Minimal risk of color changes: Most people do not experience any change in their hair color. However, minoxidil can sometimes cause a slight lightening of colored hair in a small number of people. Increased fading (rare): The alcohol content in some minoxidil formulas may potentially accelerate the fading of hair color, though this is uncommon. When to contact a professional If you experience persistent scalp irritation, redness, or discomfort from using minoxidil with hair color, stop using the products and consult your healthcare provider. For any concerns, it is always a good idea to speak with both your stylist and your doctor for personalized advice. I hope this helps - Emma

Q: Will this product work for hair thinning at the temple area?
A: Hi Shannon - Thank you for reaching out. We appreciate your interest in Hair Regrowth Treatment with Minoxidil 5% & Topical Aerosol for Women. Yes, topical aerosol treatments containing minoxidil can be effective for hair thinning at the temples in women.
