This review is about Target service not the toaster itself. After over a week the toaster had still not been deivered. I contacted Target who said it was still at the original shipping location. I asked why it took a phone call from me to make Target aware the toaster was never received by Fedex. Target lacked any process to follow up on items they scheduled for delivery and were still sitting at the their warehouse. I am not sure how long it would have sat at their warehouse had I not inquired about it. Asked for a refund because their was no assurance that by reordering it this experience would not have been repeated.

Browned toast evenly The finish has fine scratches, which i think can be polished away. It’s a little noisy, but i guess thats the retro in it. Over all a nice toaster.

Love it! Has a one slice option. Has bagel option. Easy to use crumb trays. Main reason: it has Toast Boost. You can easily remover smaller items, such as slider buns! The last 4 slice toaster we had did not have this option! Husband burnt fingers trying to get buns out. Needless to say we bought this Hamilton Beach toaster.

Made a beautiful single slice of toast right out of the box. Easy set up.

Even at the darkest setting the toast comes out beige and not very crunchy. If I want what normally would be considered toasted bread I have to toast it twice.

You can toast 4 slices. Two sides have separate settings. Theres also a defrost setting which is awesome for waffles or frozen items. Theres a one slice option as well if you’re not using both sides.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this review is for the Hamilton Beach Classic 4 slice Toaster used at home. First, I used white sourdough bread which turned out fine. Setting was on medium which turned out a little more toasted than I prefer. I then tried one setting lower and that was more to my liking. Bagel function. I didn't have bagels. I had large hamburger buns which I like toasted on the cut side. Doing this in an oven always seems to make the top hard which I do not like. I decided I would try these buns using the bagel function as directed-cut side facing out. Viola. Turned out exactly as I thought. The toaster toasted the cut side as you would expect. What's great is that it did not toast the top of the bun at all. Just warmed and otherwise, soft. Practically the way it came out of the package. I will definitely use this a lot. I would expect it would perform the same with bagels. Love it! A word of caution. When they say the top will be hot, believe them. It is. I definitely recommend.

I love that it’s a 4 slice toaster so I can make breakfast for everyone at the same time. I do wish that it was a little more powerful as I turn it up to the highest setting and it barely toasts my English muffin. I have push it down again to get the desired toast and I don’t even like it very dark, just medium. Other than that, I would recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE this toaster! It works so very well, and it's easy to use. The chrome outside is so nice, it looks pretty on my counter. It's very easy to clean and it gets your toaster, bagel and even a cold item(s) warm in no time. I love that it has a feature for the defrost, bagel and even a single item like a single piece of toast. That is a great feature that not many toasters have. I also like the fact that this works great and easy to store if you need to put it away. It doesn't take up much space on the counter which is nice for people who need counter space. The toaster has nice wide opening that fits a bagel no problem without having to worry that it will get caught and catch on fire or get burnt (which I've actually experienced before with previous appliances in the past). Tray on the bottom easily slides out to get crumbs that form on the bottom. It is also light enough to pick up and dump out crumbs inside the toaster itself when it gets too much inside. I can't say enough about this toaster, as I am totally in love with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression once I got the toaster out of the box was wow, this is a beefy toaster. So, since it is on the larger size you will want to make sure that you have ample room for it. I also noticed that you can wrap the cord under the toaster to make storing more efficient as well. I measured aprox 11" W x 11" D x 8" H for the dimensions. I tried bagels, irregular bread slices and more standard sliced bread and found that yes, they toasted well but none of them "popped" up like I remember from toasters in the past. I found that I had to assist (auto boost) by lifting the handle up to be able to fish the toast out easier and I noticed that the handles seem lightweight compared to the body which makes them feel a bit cheap. The first cooking round or two will smell a little chemically, like burning plastic but it does wear off and no longer smells during subsequent cooking rounds. The front 2 feet have rubber grips to keep the toaster in place but the back 2 do not and that might be an issue as the back end moves around on you unless you have it up against the wall. It would be nice to have all 4 feet rubber gripped in my opinion. The shiny chrome finish is nice looking but it does get some finger prints so keep that in mind if that is an issue for you. The rear pull-out trays are simple, plastic trays that catch the crumbs and are easy to pull out and empty as needed. I tried the Sure-Toast once slice button and it did indeed toast the one slice of bread on both sides nicely although, who only eats one slice of bread? If anything, I can't stop at two slices, ha-ha. I also tried bread straight from the freezer using the defrost button and it works! I couldn't believe how easy it was to go from the freezer to buttered toast in minutes. Very nice feature. All in all, it's a descent toaster with a few perks over the standard toasters out there. The auto boost to lift the smaller pieces of bread up enough to retrieve is helpful as I buy more of the weird smaller slices of bread over the standard size, so I do need the extra help getting them out of the toaster without burning my fingers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I measured the toaster at 10" wide by 10-3/4" deep (with bread lifters) by7-1/4" high. The cord is about 28" long and poses the first possible problem as it comes off the right side of the toaster. Probably because of the useful twin crumb trays at the rear. This needs to be taken into consideration when choosing a location near an outlet. I measured the bread slots at 5-3/8" long by 1-1/4" wide. Therein lies the next possible problem. The slots will accept a "standard" slice of bread but not an "artisan-style" in length. Also, the width is just enough for regular bagels, but bakery style are a no go. The bread lifters work better than any toaster I have owned. Helps the fingers from getting burned. Toast seemed to brown evenly on both sides. The shade selector tends to lean toward the darker side with darker shades taking up more of more of the dial range. Once your favorite shade was found though, toasting was consistent. Frozen waffles were another story. For some reason, one side always browned more. Bagels and english muffins browned beautifully when using the bagel button. Cut side crispy and uncut side nice and soft. I was skeptical of the one-slice setting but it actually did make a positive difference on a single slice of bread. Not so with the defrost button. It seemed to have a negative effect on browning. One other design complaint. When sitting on the counter, the buttons are hidden by the bread lifters and are difficult to see without bending over. Overall, the toaster seemed a little flimsy, especially when pushing down the bread lifters. Also, this was noticeable in how light in weight the toaster felt compared to how it looks. The retro-like styling was very pleasing and I was surprised at how little the chrome smudged. Took up less counter space than expected. All in all, a decent toaster with a few small flaws that can be worked around.

It’s chrome and black fits well in my kitchen. It’s a great quality and a great price point.. The only other thing I would’ve liked is if it had a retractable cord.

Almost all of them have worked great for the first few uses but ultimately, I find a flaw. So far, that has not been the case with this toaster. Whether it's a quick slice of toast or my morning bagel, the level of toastiness is spot on! It also seems to be one of the fastest toasters. I already talked my coworkers into the brand and she's having promising results as well!

I did not like using the bagel button, it didn’t cook/warm the outside of the bagel, but cooks a bagel perfectly without any buttons. The crumb trays come out smoothly and are easy to put back. The shade selector is accurate and the bread lifter works well.

I was delighted at how thoroughly the toaster was packaged for shipment and found all in order with no dings or problems with the appliance. I was so excited to get it that I immediately read the instruction booklet, which was enclosed and easy to follow, and set myself up to toast two slices of bread. It took me just a minute to adjust the color and toasting time, but once I got it set, I got exactly what I wanted. This toaster will certainly serve me and my husband for years to come. It looks like it will be very easy to empty the crumbs and easy to clean as well.
