A: Nope. No filters are needed for making coffee. I have used it for hot water to make instant hot cocoa, coffee, and even used it for fruit punch. I just clean it well in between uses. Use baking soda to clean build-up for the spots inside after a few uses. It is a great product.

A: I don't think so because when you turn the urn on it will begin to perk. But if you put water in it and let it perk and then empty the water and put the chocolate in immediately before it cools off it should keep it warm. Try this first.

A: I seriously doubt it because it's not smooth and shiny. When I empty the water and let it air dry upside down, there's residue stuck to the interior of the knobs and valves. It's impossible to clean so I pretty much stopped using it. And I don't live in a town with hard water.

A: Well, I'm sure that you should only heat water in the pot if you plan on using it for coffee and tea at other times. But if you want to make it a dedicated cider pot, you should have no problem pouring it in and heating it up.

A: Thank you for your question. The Hamilton Beach Brew Station 40 Cup Coffee has a 40 cup or 320 oz capacity.
I bought this large percolator to brew my own coffee to transport to my kids’ sporting events for all the parents to share. I usually order boxes of coffee at DD, or Panera, or Starbucks but all have been pricey for tasteless warm water. I decided to grind/brew my own. After much research I chose this with no regrets so far. I was going to find a double-wall, large capacity percolator but then decided it was overkill because these sporting venues have nowhere to plug in. Thus I decided to buy two Zojirushi Air Pots to transport the coffee and serve. The brushed aluminium on this perc is a bit thin so careful handling is needed to prevent dents. Since it’s single-wall and not double, I don’t know how long coffee stays warm in it. One star lost because the coffee basket is plastic. I’d love to purchase a stainless-steel basket from Hamilton-Beach to replace this plastic one! I also bought flat paper filter sheets to line the bottom of this basket to prevent grinds from getting in the coffee. I’m giddy-saved significant $$$ AND now serving GREAT coffee to my fellow parents! Score!

Have used this twice and now it doesn’t work. There is no switch to turn it on and no light comes on when plugged in. Seems like a simple appliance so what could possibly go wrong? Except that probably cheap wiring. Nothing to look at to try to fix either. Very disappointed

The box was open when I picked it up at the online pick-up counter. The employee suggested that we can return it if we don't want it. We looked inside to make sure all the pieces were there, and we ended up finding mold. I'm sure it was used and returned. Someone should've checked before putting it back on the shelf!

I regret not reading the reviews before purchasing. First time to use it to boil water then this happened after 1 boil. If this is what happens with water, what more with coffee. This is not stainless steel, when I reviewed the box after this incident I found out it’s aluminum. Toxic! Poor quality! STAY AWAY FROM THIS!
