This set has all the essentials. I do wish it had a bread knife (larger serrated knife) but for this price point you get a lot. The wood block is beautiful and the while set looks nice on a counter top. The knives are quality even though this is from Henckels lower brand level. We don't put them in the dishwasher, we wash by hand and dry right away...that keeps them sharp. They'd make a lovely, somewhat inexpensive gift!

So Sharp
These are SHARP. I've had the same knife set for probably close to 15 years and I never realized how dull they were until I got this set as a gift from my husband. The only thing that concerns me is how much flex the steak knives have.Maybe I am just not used to it. Also when I took them out of the box for the first time one of the knives had a loose piece of metal at the tip still attached. I used the sharpener to get it off, but that should been noticed before them being boxed up. I hope these last me for years to come.
