A: Hi CJ! Thanks for your question! Wool rugs, especially new wool rugs, may shed. To reduce excessive shedding, vacuum your rug 1-2 times per week in the direction of the pile for the first few weeks using a low-pressure vacuum cleaner. Shedding should diminish within several weeks.

Pretty but sheds terribly
I’ve had this for about four weeks and I have to vacuum twice a week and each vacuum picks up more and more shedding…. Disappointed because it was not cheap.

This rug is made of wool. Wool rugs typically shed a lot with the first few vacuums and then don't shed after. Please make sure the vacuum is not directly touching the pile.

Not a good purchase!
I bought this rug and it looks exactly like it does in the picture. It's a lovely and thick rug, HOWEVER, it sheds a lot. The filter of my vacuum cleaner gets full in seconds. I hate that I have to vacuum it so often and the shedding doesn't seem to be going away. I have been using the rug for 6months now.

Sheds non stop and makes the entire house a mess
We bought two of these rugs in different colors and they shed non stop!!!! Even after 3 months of active vacuuming and airing them out, our house is constantly covered in lint. It looks so bad and walking on it makes your socks completly covered in carpet lint. We ruined 3 of our vacuum filters and now need to get a new vacuum because of this rugs. So disappoint3ed in Safavieh and I wish we could return these terrible rugs and get the money back. Don't waste your money and time thinking they will stop sheeding and smeeling horrible.

Pretty good
I got this about 6 months ago. It looks great except it sheds quite a bit. I'm constantly finding what I would describe as lint balls that are from the carpet all over the house. I guess for the price it's good and maybe a more expensive type of carpet wouldn't do the same. But overall not bad

Gorgeous but sheds!
This rug is very beautiful and appears to be well made. It's got a sturdy feel and is very plush. The only downside is that it sheds excessively! I've had it for over 6 months and I still cannot vaccuum it with my Dyson stick for more than a few seconds without it clogging up. That whole "never loses suction" bit is out the window. It's very annoying. The fibers form fuzz balls that drift all over the hard floors. If it didn't do this I would be happy to give it 5 stars.

Great Rug!
The colors are exactly as pictured and the rug looks beautiful. It's much thicker than I thought it would be and very soft. We had to run the vacuum over it a few times, and it's still shedding some, but is slowing down and looks amazing.

Great rug!
Although there weren’t a bunch of reviews, the ones I read were positive, and I really liked the look so I took a chance! I’m really glad I did… The rug seems good quality, there were no weird smells, the packaging and delivery were excellent, and the rug has a nice cushion. There is nothing comparable around for the price. I did get it on sale. Very pleased.
