Q: Can you completely turn off all the lights at night? Is there a way to set it to red light, which is less disruptive to sleep, for nighttime? What happens if the power goes out?

A: You can dim the display, but not turn it off completely. The color of the light is blue, but you cannot turn it to any other color. This has a button cell battery that will hold the time if the power goes out, but it will not display the time.

A: Sorry no. The unit will need to be in the off position in order for the alarm to activate.

A: The Sound Spa is equipped with gradual wake, which means that the alarm begins soft and slowly gets louder. This will ensure a non-jarring wake-up. This only has 1 alarm tone.

A: Yes, this does have a dimmer control for the display. Just press the SNOOZE/DIM/SLEEP bar to adjust the backlight.

Q: Can you set the sounds to play for a period of time while trying to fall asleep and then shut off automatically?

A: While listening to the radio press the SNOOZE/DIM/SLEEP button to activate the sleep feature. This allows you to set a sleep timer for 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Once set, the unit will continue playing for the set length of time, then will automatically turn off.

Q: When setting the alarm to wake up with a nature sound, can I control the volume, or does it play louder and louder? I need a sound machine to turn on in the morning to block out the noise of people getting ready for school.

A: Yes! Just press the ALARM button to adjust the maximum volume of the gradual wake feature (alarm begins soft and slowly gets louder) by using the TUNER buttons you can adjust the sound level up or down

Q: Is it electric - plug into wall? Can the alarm be the radio instead of other sounds?

A: This device is only powered by an AC adapter that come with the product. Yes, you can select the alarm to sound be a Beep, Nature Sounds or play the FM radio.

We use the sound machine every night. Having the time projected on the ceiling is life changing. Brightness can be changed but I am unsure how to change it when alarm goes off. It is nice and bright to help wake me up. Great little alarm clock.

I was looking to replace an old homedics alarm clock which included an indoor & outdoor temperature sensor, had a time projection feature, was a sound machine, & had a radio & alarm components. This was the closest I found in my search. I like that it has the sound machine & time projection component but couldn’t find one with the temperature as well so I purchased this one. However, the clock is super bright, as is the projection feature, & the sound choices aren’t as good as I’d been used to. For instance, I had difficulty figuring out which choice was the ocean. Also, as everything else nowadays, cost twice as much as my old clock.

My Sound Spa worked less than 24 hours before quitting. The speakers had a tinny sound. I did receive a partial refund, but I will be looking for a better quality alarm clock elsewhere!

We purchased this because a 15 year old version started having loud static/chirping sounds. This is exactly what we wanted, but like other reviewers said - it is bright. You can adjust the display brightness - bright, not as bright, off. The ceiling projection can be turned off, but my 15 year old likes to see the time on the ceiling - though it is also bright. We have the display turned off and have the ceiling on. The sounds are perfect. (I am a light sleeper and it would be too bright for me and turning off the display and projector defeats the purpose of having it to begin with)

I purchased a second SoundSpa while I am recuperating from shoulder replacement surgery. I have to sleep in a recliner and both my husband in the master bedroom and me in the great room need our own SoundSpa white noise to sleep. We travel with one also. We keep the volume low, but need the consistent relaxing noise while we sleep.

My wife got this for me and especially like seeing the time on the ceiling. After a little time figuring out the buttons,ready to go. Her older model has more earth sounds which are better. The Brook sound rough on prostrate men too make it through the night.

Both the radio and recorded noises had this horrible crackling static that played louder than them, even at the lowest setting. When I tried to use the projection light, I only saw a blank space where it lit up on the ceiling. Returned the clock to get something similar that works just fine.

My son only likes the original “rain forest” sound effect. I ordered this (for twice the pice) because it says rain forest, but it is not the original. Disappointed in product and company. Why fix what wasn’t broken.

We ordered this clock because of the sounds avaialble to help for falling asleep. We like that pretty well although we found the feature "Thunderstorm" to be a very short repetition (like every 7 seconds) that was actually distracting rather than sleep inducing. The only other thing was that the writing on the buttons is medium gray and pretty small, making it hard to tell which button says what without getting the clock pretty close to your face.

I recently purchased this and there are features that I like, the projector, the nature sounds for the alarm, the radio but the display light is so bright and there is no way to turn it off. I actually have to put a towel over it at night because it lights up my room.

We are sorry to hear this. The clock features a display dimmer which will adjust the backlight intensity of the clock display. Press the SNOOZE/DIM/SLEEP bar to adjust he intensity. Please note the power button needs to be off to use the dimmer control.
