Something clearly wrong with the product
I wasn’t sure if I was alone in this, but after reading more reviews it seems that all this product does is burn people! I was in so much pain only a few minutes after application on my neck and even after washing it off! I have had no problems with their creams before so not sure what’s up with the stick!

CHEMICAL BURNS
This product gave me chemical burns. Sure, it stopped the aches on my back- but it caused even more pain by giving me a sunburn like pain!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. The pain feels HOT and unbearable.

Icy Hot No Mess works wonders! It helps so much with my back and shoulder pain from work. I love how easy it is to apply without getting it on my hands, and it starts relieving pain quickly. Definitely a must-have for sore muscles!

Causes More Pain
I just woke up to a very hot hot hot feel on my elbow and I’m thinking this isn’t normal. I started googling and then ending up reading these reviews. I’m like lovely. Do not buy it burns like a sunburn not like it’s warming to heal. Kept me up.

Instant relief
The roller applicator makes it super easy to apply without getting anything on your hands (which I love). It goes on cool, kicks in fast, and really helps calm muscle aches and tension. I use it on my lower back and shoulders, and it gives me that icy warm relief almost instantly. If you deal with soreness or stiffness, this is definitely one of those must-have products to keep around.

Would not recommend, causes burn to skin
Would not recommend this product at all! It caused bad burns on my boyfriend’s skin. He applied some on his knees and it burned for hours even after rinsing and washing it off. The area is very red and irritated. After this, I started looking into the product more and see that there are multiple reports of this happening to others as well. This item should be discontinued!

I wish I would have read these before putting this on my knee! It’s burning so bad and no matter how many times I’ve washed it the pain is still there and progressively getting worse! I may have to go to the hospital because I might have burns from this product on my knee! This needs to be taken off the shelf and give us and the rest of our money back! This is RIDICULOUS!

Icy Hot seems to kind of work, but it’s not the best thing in the world. You definitely feel the hot-and-cold sensation, which makes it seem like it’s doing something, but the relief doesn’t last very long. Sometimes it works better than others, so it’s been a bit inconsistent for me. Overall, I’d say it’s pretty average — it might help a little, but I’m not sure how much it’s really doing in the long run.

Horrible stuff
I wish I had seen these reviews sooner. I put this on my neck and across my shoulder and around the back side of my back. It didn’t do anything at first. No heat or coolness. Then the next morning I had a bad rash in all the areas it put it. So very upset. The icy hot I purchased years ago NEVER did this. After all of the bad reviews, this stuff should be discontinued.I will never use it again.

I totally depend on icy hot! It has a great scent. It is easy to use and convenient roll-on that doesn't cause a mess and hits the places you need. The packaging is good and easy to open, and the value is good for the price you pay.

Like everyone else said—terrible burns!
I bought this today hoping for relief from my knee pain. It did help for a bit, until I got into the shower six hours after applying. My whole left knee is now red and feels like it’s on fire. I tried applying Vaseline, but the whole area is numb to the touch, so it did nothing. Do not buy this!!! I truly wish I’d read the reviews first.

Left a burn!
My husband rolled this on my neck and upper shoulders to alleviate the tightness and pain I was feeling. After a little while I started to feel a burning sensation. I assumed it was heating but it soon became unbearable. I took a cold shower and tried to get it off. The area continued to burn more severely. When I got out, I looked in the mirror and found what looked like a sunburn all over the areas that were covered with the product. We applied oil, I showered again, and applied Aloe with lidocaine. Thankfully that settled things down. I can’t imagine what could have happened if it was left on longer. 16% menthol is more than they usually have in their products and I wanted to warn others.

Burns, badly
Put this on, first application was a bit warm but nothing bad. Second application felt like I have the worst sunburn of my life and it’s constantly being pressed. I washed it off and now I cannot sleep.

Like everyone else here, I tried the roll on after using other icy hot products with no problems. Currently my neck and back are BRIGHT red and burning to point it is extremely painful. DO NOT RECOMMEND this product at all

Not the best for my pain
I find it hard to get any product out with the roll on applicator. It takes a lot of work to get enough on. I have an injured rotator cuff and this provides minimal relief. It does get a cool feeling for a little while but nothing great. The mess free application would be great if more could come out of each time but this just isn’t enough pain relief for me. It has the typical minty scent to it that isn’t too strong.

Convenient, effective pain relief with a clean rol
I really like how easy this product is to apply with the no mess applicator it saves me from having to get it all over my hands. The cooling and warming sensation kicks in quickly and provides noticeable relief for sore muscles after workouts. The scent is strong at first but fades after a while.It’s also compact enough to carry in a gym bag. Overall, it feels effective and convenient.
