A: This isn’t a Yeti so I’m not sure that Igloo is accurate that ice could hold 2-3 days. I’m an Igloo fan, and especially like the narrow shape of this cooler for packing in an SUV cargo area. I’m glad I had a towel to wipe up puddles of water though.
A: Hello, ice retention test have not been completed on this cooler. However, with proper pre chilling, adequate ice in cooler and limited opening of the lid 2-3 days could be expected. Igloo Customer Service Team.
A: Hello, we only recommend dry ice with Igloo’s rotomolded cooler lines (Sportsman & Yukon). The rugged construction and extra thick insulation of your rotomolded Igloo cooler support the use of dry ice. Igloo Customer Service Team.
A: Hello, yes you can. Please just follow our pre chilling and packing instructions: Your Igloo cooler is an insulated container, and as such, it is an efficient insulator for both heat and cold. If your cooler is stored in a warm location, such as a vehicle trunk, garage, shed, etc., it will absorb and retain the heat from its surroundings. If a cooler stored in a hot environment is immediately loaded with ice, food items or other goods, the ice will first have to combat the heat built up in the insulated walls and will melt faster. Prior to packing, we recommend that you prechill your Igloo cooler overnight by storing it in a cool place– ideally with a bag of ice inside to help diminish the trapped heat. Minimizing the heat retained in the cooler’s insulation and packing it with prechilled contents will support extended ice retention. Fill your Igloo cooler with large cubes that are frozen solid – avoid crushed or dripping ice. Use of large ice blocks (or large frozen bottles of water) will help prolong ice retention. During use, find a cool, shady resting spot for your cooler, if possible. Keep it out of direct sunlight to extend your ice life. Avoid opening your cooler more than is absolutely necessary and be sure to close the latches when not in use to lock in the cold. As ice begins to melt, if feasible, leave the water inside your cooler (feasibility varies with contents of cooler) - the cold water keeps the ice chilled longer than the air that replaces it when you remove the water. Igloo Customer Service Team.

A: Hello, yes. The wheels are durable and rugged making them capable of easily rolling across sand. Igloo Customer Service Team.
A: Hi Shannon, yes it's possible to keep your insulin cool for 23 hours. Use the right cooler size: Choose a cooler that fits the amount of insulin. A smaller, well-packed cooler retains cold better than an oversized one. Use enough ice or ice packs: For extended cooling, use 2–3 times the volume of insulin in ice or cold packs. Aim for 3X for best results. Pre-chill everything: Make sure insulin, ice packs, and any gel packs are pre-chilled to 31°F or lower (but do not freeze insulin). Pack smartly: Place insulin (sealed in a waterproof, insulated pouch) in the center or top layer of the cooler. Surround it with cold packs or ice. Place a towel or cloth over the ice to help trap cold air. Best method – Dry ice combo: Place 20+ lbs of dry ice, wrapped in paper, at the bottom. Add a layer of cardboard. Place cold packs and insulin on top, then more cold packs and a towel. Caution: Don’t use a fully sealed cooler—dry ice turns into CO₂ gas, which must be allowed to vent. Never use in a confined space. With proper packing, insulin that starts at 31°F can stay within a safe temperature range (typically 36°F to 46°F) for 3–5 days, possibly longer if dry ice and minimal cooler access are maintained.
