We are currently using it at the bottom of the stairs— it can be used there or in a doorway, but not at the top of the stairs. It is easy to install without any additional hardware, and easy to open and close as well. It feels sturdy and I like that it will not damage our walls.

With the included hardware, this can be assembled at the top or bottom of stairs, although I have it in a doorway to protect my younger kids and pets. Literally a must-have on every registry list, because little explorers are very quick from the moment they begin crawling, even into toddlerhood. This means this gate will be used for an average of 3 to 4 years. In our case, it has been the best solution to avoid making any modifications to the house, avoid accidents, but also to give us peace of mind with our daughter, who is a very independent toddler and we’re always preventing any situation near stairs.
