A: Technically not antibacterial. Though, the US FDA found 0 evidence of antibacterial soaps better at preventing illness than plain soap and water. Antibac soap can actually be worse long term.

A: Our Ivory Gentle Bar Soap Original has the original scent. In the beauty care industry, we use two specific terms to help consumers find the right products to use, unscented and fragrance-free. Unscented products may contain a light scent to mask the natural odor of the ingredients in the formula. These ingredients do not have a pleasant smell, which is why it's necessary to add a very small amount of light fragrance to make the product more enjoyable to use. Fragrance-free products do not contain any added fragrance.

Q: The ten bar package I have at home shows 4X MORE/PLUS in the upper left. But in the store I saw a pack of fewer bars with 2.5X and another, I think with 3 or 3.5 X. Explain this on the package!

A: For our Ivory Original Bar Soap 10pk we offer 3.17 ox bars and 4.0 oz bars. The package that states 4X MORE are our 4.0 oz bars.

The bar size is great — big enough to last a while but not so big that it slips out of my hands. It lathers surprisingly well and is creamy, leaving a fresh and clean feel to the skin after a shower. The fragrance is what we expect from a simple soap. No extravagant scents or frills, just gentle and effective. The 12-pack is absolutely great and will last a long time. I definitely recommend it!

For me, I would prefer another brand.

The scent? Officially labeled only as fragrance (mysterious, right?), but it’s basically a delightful lemongrass in witness protection. Light, citrusy, and just enough to trick you into thinking you’re bathing in a spa instead of your bathroom with a questionable shower curtain (mine’s actually kind of charming, thank you very much). The bar itself is palm-friendly, not one of those awkward bricks that feel like you’re juggling a slippery paving stone. I toss mine in a pouch, because otherwise I end up playing Slip-n-Slide with it across the shower. In the pouch though? Perfection. It lathers like a bubbly dream, doesn’t ghost you after three washes, and makes me want to hum old soap jingles like it’s 1957. Final verdict: One wash and suddenly I’m 80% cleaner, 20% lemongrass, and 100% convinced this soap is my personality now.

It is not a deal breaker for me and I will continue to use.

It lathers really well. just for me it does dry me out although we’re supposed to use moisturizer when getting out of the anyway, you definitely need to use it with ivory.

It has a nice clean crisp sent and does a great job cleaning dirt and grime. I’m glad I got this soap because I forgot how great it actually is.
