Q: Can the xtreme 4 pair with a xtreme 2?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The JBL Xtreme 2 is equipped with Connect+ pairing technology, whereas the JBL Xtreme 4 uses Auracast. Due to this difference in connectivity systems, pairing an Xtreme 2 with an Xtreme 4 is not possible.

I bought this 4 days ago, and it's the best thing I have ever got. It has a swap able battery, you can use Auracast and partyboost, 24 hours battery, AI boost and more... How cool is that! Anyways it's the best speaker I ever have! Definitely worth spending all my birthday money for it. I can finally connect my JBL Charge 6 with Auracast and my Flip 5 with partyboost Thank you JBL!

The speaker sound so great when connecting it through Iphone - great sound quality. The size of the speaker is also perfect to stay on computer desk but disappointed when I got problem that the sound is glitching when connect to my Surface Studio Laptop that I am unable to use because it is only available to connect through Bluetooth. While it is Microsoft/Intel problem, JBL's design team is also responsible for this problem when they have removed all the other input. I would give 5 stars if JBL's design team didn't make that mistake.

Overall, I love my Xtreme 4 speaker. It delivers loud sound and has deep bass (especially when the EQ is adjusted on the app). It has a long battery life of 24 hours (28 with playtime boost on, although the bass is significantly reduced with this feature on). It has Auracast, so having my clip 5 and go 4 paired up with this speaker makes for some very good surround sound. I love the fact that you can use this speaker as a powerbank, meaning that you can charge up your phone or other JBL speakers with a USB-C cable connected to both devices. If you have this speaker turned on, whilst charging with the AC power supply unit, it delivers more watts, meaning louder volume and more bass. I had a very good discount with this speaker, so due it's price, I would recommend waiting until you get a good deal (or wait until Black Friday) before buying this speaker. If you want a speaker that's not as big as a JBL Boombox, but bigger than a JBL Charge, then this is a perfect in-between speaker that will satisfy you. Having a strap attached to it makes it useful for moving around, as you would have to use two hands to move it otherwise. 5/5

I bought this today! Have had it playing through out the day on and off battery mode. Plugged in mode definitely gives the sound output its full potential. But battery mode is still plenty enough to have decent volume and sound for what it is. The design look is nice. But hilarious at the same time. I first looked at it in person ages ago. And thought, "it looks like it is pregnant!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But thats because of the giant rechargeable AND replaceable battery, that jbl shoe horned in to it! Also shared by the PARTYBOX STAGE 320. A brilliant move by the company! In a consumerist and throw away society. It's fantastic that I can keep the speaker for many a years ahead and only have to replace the battery and not have to either throw away or pull apart to change the battery. Which is a main killer of bluetooth speaker ownership these days! GOOD JOB JBL!!!! LOVE IT!

I got a JBL flip 6 for the misses for taking to our work as we both work in a kitchen We needed something loud and flip 6 was good but the misses didn’t want hers to get dirty so I got this for myself. The speaker filled the kitchen with music from one end to the other with ONLY being at 60% or 70% volume. The kitchen I work in is the biggest in Manchester (north west England). When I put it to 100% at the end of the night the music was really pumping, my coworkers had to shout to communicate to each other. The max sound of this is about 100 DBs depending on the song. I could use this from 8am till 10pm and the battery had never gone below 20%. There is a ubs-c port on the back to charge the speaker but can also use that port to charge your phone so that’s handy too. This is pricy but if you need a big space to fill with music and something that will last all day this is definately a premium choice.

Bought this a few weeks ago. Sounds amazing. The sound is amazing compared to all my other portable speakers. Clear audio and can be so loud. It’s been loud enough to be out during a sailing day or louder than a tractor engine. It really is amazing. It is a bit pricey for speakers of this range but it is worth it. For any watersports people it’s waterproof, AND IT FLOATS!
