I like how this design uses a super fine mesh so you can ground those beans to power. Buyer be ware just like all Reduce Reuse products there is some cleaning involve, I use left over beans to feed my plants. This is made for both single piercer or the 5 coffee machines. Please be careful with the lock is simple but effective. I used it daily making super strong coffee. Not going back to single use plastic Keurig design cups .

This new design of this product is pretty terrible to use. You are forced to stick your finger into used coffee grounds now. Also, there are more steps to sealing the container, more lining up necessary as the internal cup now has a key lock seat requirement. The only good thing about it is that you don’t have to remove the standard k-cup insert to use it. I have to assume that maybe in theory, it is brewing a better cup of coffee because it is more sealed with the forced injector like the disposable k-cups. But now, there is a thinner layer of plastic between your coffee and boiling water. This makes me feel a bit nervous about it being a possible source of leaching of plastic into the human body. I love my Keurig, love the coffee it brews, but I am also a bit environmental and health cautious since reading about how most people are walking around with a ton of microplastics in their bodies and am always looking for ways to reduce possible consumption and used the reusable k-cups due to better environmental stewardship and thicker plastic and metal mesh filters, but also because I like a coffee that is only sold whole bean from small roaster. Because these new cups are designed to fit into the reusable insert, they are forced into a thinner plastic shell design. I guess I’m looking for a good balance between good coffee, ease of use, and confidence in safety. This definitely fails the ease of use part of the equation and pings the concern vibe in my brain about plastic consumption exposure more.
