noisy! it sounds like newspaper. I washed and dried it. It felt dry but after laying down for a bit I realized the sheet was very damp from the protector. I think it does protect the mattress but it just means the liquid is sitting on top, soaking the sheet. My LO is a sweaty sleeper so there are wet spots which became worse once I put this mattress protector on.

PVC
As soon as I opened the package I smelled chemical fumes and felt that the sheet protector was more crinkly than the type we usually use; I checked the package to see PVC coating listed. The online listing didn't mention PVC- I looked before buying and then double checked the description and specifications just now before reviewing. If you are looking for an alternative to PVC I would suggest PU or PUL. They aren't completely non toxic (that is out of my budget) but are much better.

The smell alone is what made me dislike this product. Even after washing it, it has a strong chemical smell and because I washed the sheets I bought with it, all of my daughter's sheets now smell like chemicals as well.

Not Waterproof
These are not actually waterproof. We had both a potty and a throw up incident and it went right through to the mattress which stained.

Fiberglass or similar?
I hope someone at a higher level will see this review. But I noticed when I wash the protector is gets very ITCHY out of the washer and especially the dryer. I am wondering if this item has fiberglass or another component that is unstable during wash. It would be very disappointing considering this is a child’s mattress protector. Not only is there a skin sensitivity risk, but possibly respiratory. And you can’t say not to wash the item, because children sometimes wet the bed.
