Q: Please help describe this mattress’ softness? For example, on the scale of 1-10 in terms of firm (1) to soft/lax (10). Most infant mattresses should be closer to 2 (to help prevent SIDS) and an adult Simmons Beautyrest pillow top is closer to an 8.

Q: I understand the VINYL COVER meets GREENGUARD Gold Certification, but what about the rest of the mattress? Is the ENTIRE mattress lead and pthalate free, and free of flame retardants and other harmful chemicals?

A: Thanks for your question! Our Kolcraft Good Night Baby Crib mattress does not contain any spray/dipped chemical flame retardants. Our crib mattress cover for this model is a vinyl laminate. It does not contain any of the phthalates of concern and, in fact, it meets Chemicals of High Concern to Children regulations, in addition to GREENGUARD Gold Certification.

I bought this mattress because of the good reviews. Let me tell you big mistake! We are going to return it. First off is super springy, it’s got no firmness. It has No edge support and my daughter rolls right off. It’s so springy that when she’s climbing onto it, it’s moves so much like if it was a dang water bed. No good, spend the extra money and save yourself the hassle.

I bought this for my dog I adopted. He's 100lbs for reference. His foster person said he didn't really care for dog squishy beds and would likely chew through them (he'd already eaten 2 at her house). So I needed to find a bed that would be 1) big enough, 2) basically indestructible, or at least teeth proof, 3) comfortable, and 4) not so expensive that if he does tear it up I'll hate myself. Enter the toddler mattress. I picked this one because it was relatively cheap and waterproof. He's not a fan of the waterproof material. It traps all the air in the mattress and made it awkward to settle in. So I poked some "air holes" in the mattress cover and bought a sheet. It's very possible he's going to be spoiled. Size is excellent. Would accommodate most large dogs nicely.

I was hesitant to buy this mattress after I read some of the reviews. It is a bit soft and not as sturdy as some of the standard mattresses out there. However, it’s not too much of a game changer. My 11 month old sleeps soundly on it which works for me!

I bought 2 of these one for each my twins. They got holes in them and ripped open just by my twins jumping on them. They lasted until just after their 2nd birthday. I would not recommend because you will just need to buy a different one.

This is one of those products that make you wonder who thought it was a good product and why is it even being produced; it's terrible. It's getting returned tomorrow. I sent my husband to buy a Sealey but he accidentally came home with this instead. It's vinyl, which is nice because you can wipe it down. However, my daughter's Sealey mattress is not vinyl, and with a cloth mattress cover, I've never had an issue with stains/leaks to the actual mattress. So vinyl isn't necessary to me. Because it's vinyl, it doesn't breath, it retains heat and is hot. It's crinkly and noisey, and smells. It's certainly not firm enough for an infant. We bought it for our infant, but if I were to keep it, I would have to switch it out for the Sealey crib mattress on my daughter's toddler bed, due to the firmness issue alone. However, it would be way to loud and hot for her. I also think, even with her only being 30 lbs, she would sink right down into it. I don't feel like it would have much of a lifespan and that it would soon behind to sag. I would worry either the vinyl and putting an infant on it, that it would heat up too much and put the baby at higher risk for sids. Don't waste your money, spend and extra $15-20 for a Sealey.

This mattress is waterproof plastic material. Bought it for use at grandma's and it suited my needs perfectly. Arrived on time enclosed in a zippered plastic cover inside of a box. I will be adding a fitted cotton pad under the sheet.(My preference) Using it right now without a pad and it works just fine for our toddler. Fits the crib perfectly, no gaps.

This is perfect for our baby. We love that it felt extremely similar to the one we was going to purchase for our baby. This mattress was WAY cheaper and pretty much the exact same as the expensive one, so I went with this one of course! Looks perfect in our crib, it feels great once you purchase a separate soft/plush mattress protector. It does not make loud noises like some reviews say... it just has your typical waterproof coat on the mattress like most crib mattresses! It is somewhat soft yet firm you don't worry about baby being in it. I highly recommend it! Why not save your money if baby is happy with this mattress, and spend it else where! ☺️
